There used to be a lady who came to our church regularly and said she believed in the gospel and so wanted to be baptised.
Trouble is she used to visit mediums and has what she called "spirit guides". Our pastor became very concerned about this. All kinds of reasoning and persuasion would not budge her from her belief. The Lord Jesus Christ to her was not the Son of God, but a powerful medium, no more.
In the end we met together as a church and prayed together that she would be delivered from this Satanic power. It always amazes me that it never occurs to these spiritists (there is nothing spiritual about them at all) that the spirits they contact are not evil spirits willing to deceive them.
Anyway, as I said mighty prayer went up for her. The next time our pastor met her in the street he said to her, "What has your spirit guidehad to say to you today?" She replied, "We cannot contact him for some reason. But another guide has contacted us." From that date she ceased from coming to our church.
One day as we were going from door to door my friend said to me, "Oh that's so and so's house, I'm not going to knock there". But I sad that we should, so I did and she opened the door and I struck up a conversation with her. I will always remember the sad words that fell from her mouth. After a few minutes she said, "You Christians will be so disappointed when you get to heaven and find that Jesus is not the Son of God after all". Very sad.
