    Hi
I'm having a hard time finding a meaningful Christmas message for our church sign. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks and Preach The Word!

Keep it simple and plain, never trite.
There's nothing wrong with Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

    Ones we have had:
    "Jesus is the reason for.....EVERYTHING!"
"The Manger led to the Cross" (A sermon title of mine)

Announce your Christmas play or cantata on the sign. Have a sermon title (make it a good title and sermon) on there. I've come more to the realization (and there's empirical data to back this up) that the sign is more effective when conveying annoucnements instead of "sign sermons."

Don't try to be cute. Be plain, clear, and convey something necessary.

We saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.

I think TomVols nailed it correctly. Make it simple so that people can read it driving by. Don't use Christian speak, that is, words that only another Christian will understand.

If you have a Christmas Eve service, post the time. Use it so people who don't come to your church can know what you're doing.
