Which is why I believe every man called to preach is also called to prepare. The more we learn about the grammar and syntax of the Greek language the less likely we are to make such errors of interpretation.
What often happens is that a participant in the discussion relies on the opinions of a commentator who knows as little about Greek as the participant. In which case the one who actually understands what the Greek is saying is at a loss to convince the opposition that his commentator is speaking out of ignorance.
The same can be said of those who rely on questionable authorities such as Strong's Lexicon, and even Thayers. They seem unaware that Thayer denied biblical inerrancy, and that his work was proven to be quite wrong in many places by Gustav Adolf Deissmann's work with the Egyptian papyri which revolutionized New Testament and Koine Greek Lexicography with the publication of his Bible Studies: Contributions Chiefly from Papyri and Inscriptions to the History of the Language, the Literature, and the Religion of Hellenistic Judaism and Primitive Christianity published in 1901 (2nd edition 1909) and also Light from the Ancient East: the New Testament Illustrated by Recently Discovered Texts of the Graeco-Roman World London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1910.
Yet, somehow, these discredited "experts" still seem to be trotted out to support erroneous meanings and usages of Greek terms.

Those are probably used because they are the ones that come up on sites people use. What, in your opinion is the best that can be used for free on the internet?

Spend 7 years learning Greek. Then use it every day for 40 years. That won't make you an expert but it is a start. :D

Yes. So I am going to close this one. I should have taken it up in private with the Mods before posting publicly. Mea culpa. Mea culpa. :D
