Secular is fine. It's when they make secular into sacred that we have a problem.

There is nothing inherently wrong in secular affairs. Secular is not the opposite of sacred. The opposite of sacred is profane.

I applaud Chuck Colson for speaking up. However the message is way to weak. It does not point to specifics. The way that we dress or the lack there of, our speech ( profanity and justify or excuse it), the breaking of laws (speeding running red lights), not caring for others (talking on cell phones while driving texting while driving), what we watch and where we go, drinking and partying, and yes he did mention our spending habits. We run up debt becoming a slave to the lender. We twist truth and call it good. How many churches lie on their insurance applications about having a gymnasium by calling it a family life center or something like that to get lower rates? Most if not all! There is little wonder why the average person who claims to be a Christian sees no problem with lying and cheating today. They simply call it something else.
No longer is the word of God that which directs the average church attendees life. Chuck Colson is right. It is all about self and little about the Lord. No longer is godliness of great gains, but rather a form of it so that we can continue to live not so unlike the world. :tear:

The only reason you might be riled is because you cannot accept what the bible teaches. If what you say about your mother is true then you should have followed your mother's advise rather then degrade her name with unbecoming remarks. It's called faith in her teachings.
