Good Afternoon Everybody,

What a day today has been. I had lab work to get done, then my annual physical.

The doctor has determined that I suffer from "Furniture Disease". He says that's when my chest has dropped into my drawers. :tongue3: You'd think for what I have to pay him he'd be a better comedian.

I brought in Orange Pepper Steak, Roasted Green Beans with Peppers and Onions, Sweet Potato Crisp, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cluster Cake, and New York Style Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake.

Since this our dinner tonight I figured I'd make a little more and bring it to the Coffeehouse Crew. Enjoy.

I've got to get going I'm behind on getting things done.

Annsni, I hope you had her pre excused or are NY truancy laws different from AL's? We can get our kids excused for events of this type but it has to be done ahead of time.

Cass ended up going in just long enough to take her test and then I went back and got her. She's resting now. I gotta go back out and pick up the other two plus an extra in a few minutes.

What I'd really like to do is go to bed and stay there. Other than drive here and there I haven't done anything, but I still feel sooo bad and now I have a headache on top of it.

(snicker) Annsni, I had my own run in with a "bad" kid today. I feel bad so little that it puts me in a really, really bad mood. I had to go deliver some sewing to my friends shop. When I got up there she was emphatically telling her son to put something away and go take care of some chore. I could tell by the tone of her voice that this was NOT the first request. As much as I love his mother, this kid is often not on my good side. When he finally decided to do what he was told he turned his back to her, made a face and rolled his eyes! And I was standing there, already in a bad mood. After a few choice words meant to show him the error of his ways, I allowed him to escape. :D Poor kid! His mom was already not happy with him and then he had to listen to me too.

Honestly though, is it a rule that teenagers always have to argue when they are asked to do something?

Ah well, if my kids are lucky, I used all my energy on him and they'll get a free ride this evening. (not!)

Good Morning Everybody,

Well just because nobody posted last night doesn't mean people wern't here. The food is all gone. I brought in Georgia Broiled Ham, Eggs, Fresh Fruit, and Smoothies. Enjoy.

I've got to hit the ground running today, so I'll try to look in later.

Good morning all,

The weather man said that four-letter word this morning - SNOW.

We are expecting an inch tonight and it was 70º yesterday!!! It's no wonder that I, along with several others I know, have colds, flu, bronchitis, etc.!

I don't expect the snow to last long, but it's the principle of the thing. It is NOT supposed to snow before Christmas Eve and it's supposed to be gone the day after Christmas!

I woke up with a stuffy nose, head, chest, and a cough, so I will probably stay home today. It's a real bother to be so susceptible to bronchitis and pneumonia!

Growing old is NOT for sissies...

I know Women who never use 4-letter words.... Cook, Bake, Rake, Mend, Snow, Work etc.

Sister Sue: I knew it!!!!! We are related. I've been prone to pneumonia since I was a little kid, and I still am. I can have a chest-cold on Monday, bronchitis on Tuesday, and pneumonia on Wednesday. I remember one year when I had pneumonia 5 times during the season. That's one reason why I've never smoked - I figure my lungs are damaged enough already.

You and I are just privilieged enough to have the permanent position of making sure the heating works, and the hot soup tastes good, the food is hot, and the vaporizer functions properly.

It's a tough job - but somebody has to do it. Remember, few are chosen, but it is us, and we must serve.

Now it's time to see if the heat still works, and the breakfast is hot. * SIGH * I know it's a burden, but You and I are the "Chosen" People. So we endure.

Wow! I have time to hop on this morning since there's no preschool today! I have to run up to church to work and then I have homeschool group. My work should be partly easy, partly tough - the worship words will be easy to do (I put them together on the computer to be projected on the screen with a background that enhances the song), I THINK I have pastor's notes done (he was supposed to do this message 2 weeks ago but the Holy Spirit led him off on a tangent - LOL) as long as he didn't change much but I'm not betting the house on that, and then I got a call from the couple doing the 'special music' and they told me that they'd love for me to put together graphics to go along with the song that they're singing - I did that for a song the wife did a few weeks ago and it was gorgeous (It was Nicole Nordman's Every Season). This could take me a LONG time - I haven't even seen the song yet. )

SOOOOO, after homeschool group, we MAY try to turn the boat around (so the back is facing the dock for the winter - it will sit better in storms that way - less damage potential) and then run home, have dinner (Chicken Chili in the crockpot) and off to our small group. Whew! Should be a busy day.

Take care all!! I hope you have a wonderful day and, Sue - if you can, send that snow over here. I'd love it!

That would be me too, Rob! :(

I don't feel very chosen when I'm the one who is sick...

Hi everyone,

I haven't been in the Coffee House since Tuesday morning, and I didn't even say "hi" then.

Hope you folks get over the sicknesses soon. It is such a yucky feeling, isn't it?

We're doing well here. We try to live a quiet, uneventful life. It works most of the time.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Been putting up new blinds in the kitchen. I got tired of the old ones and took them down. :D Problem was, this time of year the sun blasts through the kitchen windows and blinds us first thing of a morning. These should fix the problem.

Sitting to a bite to eat right now and then I'm moving on to slave driver status. Leastwise that's what the kids will be calling me by evening. Were going to do some holiday cleaning today while they are out of school. No reason I should have to do it all myself!

Good Evening Everybody,

I'm glad that today is over. Have you ever had one of those days that in comparison would make a root canal seem like walk in the park on a warm, sunny day?

We have some couples coming over tomorrow for a barbeque, hopefully we won't get the snow that is predicted. Tomorrow's menu is Steaks, Ribs, Harvest Salad, Chocolate Peppermint Pudding Pie, and New York Style Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake.

I'm in kind of a quandry though. When I had my Physical this week, my doc is concerned because of the cooking I do, plus being my Wife's primary caregiver, doing the housework, raising the grandkids, etc; but, I've been told by my Psychiatrist not to change my daily routines because they provide the stability that helps me deal with my BPD.

I looked at my doc and asked him what was so different from what I'm doing and what Housewives do every day, and do well? He laughed and told me that housewives don't cook like I do.

I corrected him and said I know Women on a Christian Forum [ the BB ] that not only do they cook as well everyday, but that I'd never met a Women who couldn't outcook me. He told to stop being logical, and to try and tone down some of the cooking. Then that pup asked me for a recipe!

Darned if I do...and darned if I don't.

Good morning all,

We missed the snow last night, so we're supposed to get rain and snow mixed this morning.

I'm staying in today, besides the yucky weather, it's cold and we're having 25mph winds.

This feels like a good day to bake (and iron)!

Time for coffee,

Sue - It's never a good time to iron!! ;)

Good morning all - I'm not really up but my daughter is babysitting for a conference at church today so I had to make sure she's up. We were out late last night - our small group went well but then we had to drive to the next town to help one of our members jump start their car - at 11 pm. We didn't get home until almost 12 so I think my little ones will be sleeping in today. I'd be right there with them too if I could.

I'm not sure what's going on today. It's a beautiful day so we're not going to clean my bedroom like we had planned - we'll do it tomorrow when it's cold and rainy. MY bedroom has been a mess for so long (we are NOT neat people) and we decided to do a 'clean sweep' in there so that it can look decent again. This will be great! The only time we've had it clean was when we had weddings here and the whole place needed to be neat but there are no weddings in the near future that I know of!! Yeah!!!

Well, I'm off for a cup of tea and to relax a bit. Take it easy all!!

LOL FoG! Aren't docs something?

A hurried good morning today. All five of us will be testing for new belts in karate in less than one hour. Gotta go!
