Hey Everyone! I've been so busy sewing today that I didn't realize that I hadn't checked in here today.

We're drowning in Alabama. It has poured today. I think the storms, if you could call them that, are over for the day and we're going to get some clearing tomorrow. Some places in AL down south of us had real storms and quite a bit of damage. Luckily all that happened here is that the trees lost most of their leaves and hey, that's a good thing. I'll be able to get the pool cleaned up when the leave are gone and keep it clean!

I have to have Miss Jenna to church in a few minutes. She has a meeting with our children's minister to start the process toward baptism. :) Then I'll make a trip back home to Chris and then I'll get to sit down and enjoy Wednesday night services. Going to be a busy evening to top off a busy day.

Ya'll have a good evening!

Well Hello everyone--new to this board. Actually I'm one of the "furiners". A Lutheran---hide the women and children:smilewinkgrin:

Anyway I got an invite to join you all and I won't say who, so I don't embarass them:) Retired and waiting out this yucky weather till my wife gets home from work in MID-MO.

Rain, wind, nasties, ugh.

.........

Howdy!

One of my very favorite things about Mid MO is how the spires of all the beautiful Lutheran churches reach towards Heaven in all the little German river towns.
Hermann, of course, being the crown jewel of German towns in Mid MO.

Yep---The spot of many good wine tasting events..........and beer to at the Hermanhoff. The Oktoberfest is the most popular, with all the "brats" you can eat. That whole area along the Missouri River has German settlements and festivals all year long. The terrain reminded the settlers of their Vatter land when the settled here.

Also I've got relatives in Moore and Norman-------neighbors?

Hi!:wavey:

I didn't tell y'all about the tumble I took Friday night, have I?

I was heading to the WC to clean myself up to make getting ready for the next morning's event easier. I tripped on a cassette tape storage case that had been in that same spot for probably a year with no problem and all of me (which is no small amount) landed on my left knee. Hard.
It is still swollen and painful, but Much better.

I'm playing hookie from church tonight partly because of the knee and partly because of the nasty weather headed our way.

Yes, many of my ancestors came to MO from Germany about 150 years ago. They got off the boat at Hermann and literally walked into the wilderness to establish their farms.

No, I'm farther east. Although I have a child at OU in Norman.

Oh dear Gayla

How is your knee now? I hope it is not too painful.

Blessings :flower:

Good morning all and welcome, Rad!

Gayla: Sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you feel better real soon.

It was a restless night for me with all the rain and the wind banging at the windows. We have old windows with the old-style wooden storm windows and they don't fit tight, so they rattle.

Oh well, it's my birthday and I'm glad I'm up early so I can make the most of it. We're going to 'skip' home school today and go thrift shop 'sailing'. Brent is taking me out to lunch and baking me a birthday cake. I'm not sure what's on the agenda for supper, but I'm not cooking.

Have a good one y'all!

Good Morning Everybody,

CONGRATULATIONS SUE!!! My memory is shot, I just can't remember...are you 21 or 39?

If anybody is interested There is an ark being built in Michigan, and all the different types of animals are lining up in pairs. Shouldn't everybody who is on the Coffeehouse get on too? After all, there is only one Sue, one Cindi, one Sheila, one Jim, one Preacher, one Gayla, one Gina, etc.

I brought in Belgian Waffles with fruit toppings, hickory smoked Bacon, and zesty Fried Potatoes. It's cold and windy, I thought this would taste good. All my work this morning is inside.

Good Morning Everyone!

I don't wanna work today! So far I've done my best to avoid it. Had coffee at the neighbors, sat at the computer (anyone else's hotmail server "busy"?), walked through the house looking at what all remains to be done.....Just anything to keep from working! Unfortunately, all that has only taken up one hour of my day so I guess I'll actually try turning my hand to something and see if that makes the time pass faster.

Thanks for breakfast FoG.

Welcome Rad!

Gayla, take care of that knee.

And Miss Sue:

Happy Birthday!!!!!

Good afternoon everyone! FoG - I'll nuke up a plate for myself - I haven't had time to eat yet today! Thanks!

Sue - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope you guys have great success in your 'sailing'. :D

Today is finally a very quiet day - I don't need to be anywhere until almost 7 tonight! Yeah!! So we're getting school done and I need to clean this dump. We cleaned out my bedroom and now everything that was in the bedroom is in the entry hall. We have the piano tuner coming tomorrow and I don't want him seeing the wreck that we call this house. LOL - I'll be cleaning all of that up today as well as doing some housework. Tonight is our planning meeting for the homeschool group which should prove to be a long night. Everyone has an opinion and we have to coordinate 5 different age groups with the classes and field trips. I'll make a lot of coffee for the meeting. :tongue3:

Gayla - I hope your knee feels better soon!! Is it still sore? Keep icing it if it is - it will help with swelling. Forget the heat thing that everyone says (you know, ice it for 24 hours then put on heat) since the heat will just aggrivate the swelling.

Annsni, I commiserate with you! My house is a wreck too. 22 red felt vests can do that to a person. My solution? Slave labor!!!! :D I told my kids I expected them to come in from school ready to clean. Jenna is going to work on her room, Cassie the kitchen and Christopher is going to work on the full baths while I clean the half bath/laundry room.

Right now, it is off to Wally World for 10 inches of green ribbon and more laundry detergent. Oh and milk, can't forget the milk!

See ya!

I think I'll get my girls to help me today too - they're walking up the driveway now........
