I spent a lot of time today in my garden pulling weeds from my plants. It's in dire need of a good hose down. So tonight i'm going to treat it to Miracle- Grow and a good soaking.
On the Menu for dinner tonight is Fried chicken, Mashed potatoes and gravy, Green beans and a salad. With fresh Catalope for dessert. I get hungry just thinking about it. Won't be long now till I get off my rump and wander off in the kitchen to fix it :D
Welcome IAD I see now your going to make a wonderful addition to the board hehe.
*hands diane a 10 foot spoinge for the water in the sand box* :-[ WIsh i could do more

Hey, not much, man. Just learning my way around this new place. It's not nearly as fast-paced as we're used to, but that could be a good thing. Also, there seem to be some really neat people here.
For those of you just tuning in, Coov and I are best friends and are both coming from the same dysfunctional "Christian" messageboard in search of people who actually believe the Bible is God's Word and that Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life. We clown around a lot, but both have a strong love of the Lord.
Sue, I read that other thread. Thanks for the link. Sounds like you've had a lot on your plate for the last week or so. It's great to see God working. -
Are you going to tell everyone that George Lucas was divinely inspired to create Star Wars so that you and I would someday meet on the Star Wars Christian message-board, or is that a bit much for a third post!
Um....I don't guess there's much need to now, is there? Besides, I would've left out the "divinely inspired" part. LOL -

*wipes drool from chin and looks for WoO's address*
Welcome IAD I see now your going to make a wonderful addition to the board hehe.
Thanks, I think. Not sure what to make of that. ;)
i'm not sure we have cheetoes
Wherever Coovy goes, there are Cheetos. His fandom of Cheetos is just a hair below the level of chemical dependency. -
I am just glad there is a place to go to where we can say something uplifting and not have to dodge any rotten tomatoes, or get ridiculed for posting Scripture. -
Oh, and thanks for the welcome, WoO!

Oh, and thanks for the welcome, WoO!
WoO who?
Or is that woo-hoo?
*ponders*
OK, back to work.
*cracks whip* -
Welcome, Coov...you're not too far from us. We're in the Murfreesboro area!
Also, though I've welcomed IAD on the Pit Stop, Welcome here, too! -

Where's the Cheetoes??? I've been stopping by here for a year and there ain't no donuts, somebody scarfed the last piece of banana bread and all the Dr Pepper ended up in that other part of New York...
I'm going to blackbird's and have some of that sweet corn.
It's 95 today with a matching humidity. It's fixin to deep fry this Yankee in his own body fat. Y'all want to come up and get it or should we just put the heat/humidity in a box and UPS it to you? That ain't tears, it's me burnt to a crisp and sweating to beat the band. -

Welcome Coov ! We won't hold it against you that you're a friend of IAD.
We've ALWAYS had Cheetos. No one has been eating them!
And Padre! Shame on you! The virtual CH never runs out of ANYTHING - we just move things around from time to time to confuse you. :D
Well, my plate IS full but I'm just gonna have to get a bigger plate!
I just found out the car needs new brake pads so I scheduled an appointment for Thursday morning. I can't be driving back and forth to Springfield every day and take a chance on the brakes going out... -
Okay, okay! Here's a fresh loaf of banana bread for Padre and the newbies.
And just to show my generosity and welcome in IAD and Coov, I'll open up a jar of my fresh made blueberry preserves. There's bread on the counter and peanut butter in the cabinet to enjoy it with. For those of you who enjoy fresh picked blueberries, I have a bowl of those to share as well.
Well I'm tired now and I haven't even done that much today, well, with the exception of making those preserves and making a quick run to Walmart.
The sun is finally shining here! Hooray!!!!! If it dries up some today then I can call the pool man tomorrow and maybe he can get started on Thursday. Then my dad can bring the tractor and help me grade what is left and plant grass and my backyard will be finished. I am so ready for the kids to have a nice place to play again.
Padre, we have enough of our own humidity. I'm not generous enough to take your too. :D
Sue, that is an awful lot for just one fence section. Keep looking around, private individuals who work for themselves are often cheaper and only advertise by word of mouth. Make sure they are liscensed and insured before hiring them though. -

Allllll-righty then! At least now I know how it'll go down.
*waves tuna menacingly*

I am SO there. -

Sue, will be praying you can get the brake pads replaced at a decent, affordable price and that you'll continue to have safe journey back and forth. I'm praying for Dale and all ya'll are going through right now.

Hi folks!!!
Been a trying couple of weeks for some of you. Will say a special prayer.
We found out last Tues afternoon that Carl didn't have to be back at work until today
!! (The plant closes down every year the week of July 4, but they DON'T do a good job of giving info at that place - some of the newbies didn't know about it) we don't even know if they will get paid for more than the 4th [paid holiday].
Anyway, we decided to go to Oklahoma since I hadn't been 'home' in 3 years.
We got back at about midnight last night. We went through Villa Rica (Diane), Birmingham (MK),on the way up and Murfreesboro (AVL)on the way back. So close, yet so far -
I wondered where you were! I wondered if you'd gotten sick from your infected teeth, etc. Glad it was a GOOD reason instead!
BTW... I was very hungry today so I had a small serving of egg noodles with butter at lunch and had spaghetti and meatballs for supper but only a smaller serving again. NO SNACKS! Fewer sodas. -
Gayla, if you took highway 78 out of B'ham toward Memphis on your way up, you came a lot closer to me than B'ham! Glad you had a good trip!
Diane, you gotta cut out those sodas! Drink water or tea(yeah I know, I don't like em either) and eat more veggies. Veggies are free foods without many calories so long as you don't add a bunch of butter. Those sodas are full of empty, empty calories! Sugar free jello is a good filler for when you really need a snack. (I'm just full of advice tonight aren't I? ;) )
Padre, making banana bread and such is my job, so I kinda have to find time. Hungry kids get to complaining if I don't cook, not to mention that T knows to the second when supper is cooked and walks in from work ready to eat!
Ya'll folks missed the cornbread. We had that on Sunday. Nice little individual cakes made in my cast iron mold. Just the right size for the bottom of the bowl to have soup poured over.
