Chipsgirl, you mentioned a Golden Retriever Rescue. My BIL runs a St. Bernard Rescue. How would you all like one of them? They currently house 5. Of course, they have a kennel and lots of ground. These guys want to get in your lap! They don't realize I guess that they are as big as a dozen laps!

We adopted a rescue dog 4 years ago this Dec. She had been abused and neglected.
She was very timid and we think she was abused by a man, she was afraid of men. She has become a totally different dog she is not timid anymore and she loves people, including men.

Our daughter in law thinks Mattie Rose is a miniature Bichon Frise. My wife and I think she is a Maltese/mix.

We think she is about 12 years old, she has a heart murmur. The vet took xrays to look at her heart, it is a little enlarged and she is on heart meds now.

The xrays also revealed that she has some ribs that were fractured some time ago, they had healed. Someone also had her debarked, when she tries to bark she squeeks.

We can't understand why someone would keep a dog and abuse it, why not give the dog away?
Being A Christian I have to temper what I want to say I would do someone that harms an animal.

Oh St. Bernards are beautiful!!!! They are probably bigger than me though. [IMG]

I'm with you bruren on having to bite my tongue when it comes to animal abuse. My heart breaks in a million pieces when I think about abused animals.

Okay! Mark it on the calendar! I have a clean house. [IMG]

Now I'm tired but I still have sewing to do. That shouldn't take very long though.

I had a St Bernard once upon a time. He was more horse than dog. More than one delivery/meter man refused to get out of his car when Brutus came lumbering around the house! I just couldn't convince the guys that all he wanted was a little kiss! [IMG] [IMG] Unfortunately Brutus had an addiction to killing cats, rabbits and other small animals. The aunt I was living with at the time didn't appreciate this addiction and since the closest Cathater Anoymous group was over in the next state, Brutus was sent to a farm owned by friends to spend his days chasing wild rabbits and being spoiled rotten by two older folks and any grandchildren who came to visit.

    Ya'll have a good evening!

    Good morning all:

Wow! I love to hear about people's pets (family)! I have two aquariums going right now.

It is 32F here and won't get much warmer today. It think we might get some rain tomorrow.

Well, we put the Christmas tree up yesterday. We just have to hang the ornaments on it, and place the wrapped presents under it today. Then we will wipe down the woodwork in the living room and family room and decorate in both places.

Since I have a rehearsal supper to help with on December 8th, and we have a wedding December 9th, and I'm having Christmas on December 10th, I am running behind schedule! [IMG]

    HAGD all!

    Good Morning!

Sue, you will be all done and relaxing while we are running around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to get everything accomplished. [IMG]

Hope everyone has a great day!

Pamela: I am SO blessed to have Brent here to help me and also Shawna who has been running my errands and grocery shopping for me so I don't have to stop what I'm doing and go out. [IMG]

Thankful: I won't be done after December 10th. Dale, Brent, Shawna, and I will be having our Christmas on December 25th. I get to do everything all over again. :D

I won't even start shopping for Brent until after the 10th, but I have Dale and Shawna taken care of (if I can find time to do some fast crocheting). [IMG]

Good morning! Glad to hear that everyone seems well and active. It is great to be just moving at my age. Still, I have a bit of roofing to do this morning on a flat roof section. The wind is blowing pretty good, but have to beat the impending snow called for this afternoon and the next four days.

Glad we have a quiet Christmas, no gifts or decorations and even better this year cos Mary will be in Florida.

On pets; they are so precious to me. We are down to only five dogs and 8 cats now. Four of the remaining dogs are rescued dogs. The latest was found left in the fields last Boxing Day. Imagine just being deserted in the fields like that. Veterinary said she was perhaps a day off starving to death.

Well, coffee break is over. Back to the roof.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good Morning Everyone!

LOL Jim! ONLY 5 dogs and 8 cats! [IMG] I think that puts you two over me on the animal count. I have 3 dogs, 1 cat, 4 guinea pigs, 1 hamster, 1 tree frog and one Oriental fire belly toad. Only till January though. Then I'll be keeping my parent's 3 poodles while they migrate to Florida for 2 months. Then I'll one up you again!

We have company coming today so I'll be offline till this evening. I'm hoping to get my car back sometime today. They called yesterday to tell me my part was in and set up a time for me to bring the car in. I was like, you have it already! They said "Oh, I guess I'd better give them the part then". That did not inspire much confidence!

    Ya'll have a good day!

Lots of busy folks stopping in at the BB Coffee House!

Hope Muffin will get to be home for Thanksgiving. We sure do get attached to our pets, don't we? They do become part of the family and love us right back.

We're haveing a Thanksgiving Revival at church, started Sun AM thru tonight, then no service tomorrow.
We're also busy planning for a Missions Revival in mid-Jan. The Theme is "Throw Out the Life-Line."
    Any decorating ideas?

Yep! We're thinking of hanging them in the windows and using large ropes like swagas on the walls. Then we have the Fellowship Hall to decorate. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
    Think I'll start a new thread for this . . .

    Sorry about the triple post!

I deleted your extra posts, Gayla.

How about some anchors (anchored to THE Rock).

I just stopped for a quick sandwich. I was hungry! I have been busy all morning and still can't walk in the spare bedroom where all the Christmas things are stored!

I have the sunporch all decorated though and Brent, bless his heart, washed down all the woodwork and 'swiffered' the mini blinds in all of the rooms.

Back to work. Time to start on the living room!

Is anyone else having Thanksgiving services tonight instead of tomorrow night?

    Yes, we had services tonight!

Hopefully, Muffin will come home tomorrow. We will check with the doctor about 9:30 or so and maybe we can bring him home.

It seems that he really does keep our household running smoothly. No one to remind us to keep on schedule. Two of my grandchildren will be over tomorrow. We will probably to a little cooking.

We will really celebrate when Muffin gets home.

Brent and I will be cooking tomorrow too. I usually have all my side dishes put together the day before so all I have to do on Thanksgiving is bake them.

Thankful, I will be looking for a good report on Muffin tomorrow!

I am heading for bed. I have another long day tomorrow. Two days and I'm still not done decorating!

    Pleasant dreams all!
