We saw firsthand the crisis in UK prisons in the case of Tommy Robinson where the prison authorities lied about their confinement of Tommy Robinson, perhaps due to shortage of staff that did not allow them to accurately track where he was all the time. Tommy Robinson himself reported on the unsanitary conditions of the prison food service and the inability of the prison to protect those imprisoned.
Now we find out that the UK is giving away $14 billion in foreign aid while neglecting prison conditions at home.
Here is a video rundown:

Prisoners will always complain about their prisons. They want hotel conditions.

Because the message can easily be corrupted by the nature of the messenger. But I agree that Tory cuts have pared both the prison service and the police to the bone. We can't have our cake and eat it: if we want a decent police and criminal justice service in the country then we need to dig into our pockets and pay for it.
