Cuba get 2,000,000 tourists a year but it turns out that the motels and hotels where they stay are owned by the Cuban army. Hmm, that would mean that the Comandante of the Cuban army would be raking in the dollars. Now who is the Comandante of the Cuban army? Did you say Fidel?
"...Consider tourism. The Cuban military has an enormous holding company called GAESA. One of its companies, Gaviota, operates an extensive network of hotels and resorts, according to the strategic consultancy Stratfor. Imagine if the Pentagon owned the Marriott and Hilton hotel chains. That is the Cuban tourism industry in a nutshell.
"About a million Canadian tourists go to Cuba every year. In total, more than 2 million tourists visit annually, and yet the Castro regime is still standing.
"It is true, of course, that the embargo — which Obama can’t lift on his own — hasn’t ended the Castro regime. On the other hand, there is little reason to believe that lifting the embargo will end it, either. Our vast trade with China hasn’t yet made Beijing any less repressive...."

The Castro's could learn a thing or two from our own dictators.
Details of Every American’s Call History
First, the (American) government convinced the major telecommunications companies in the US, including AT&T, MCI, and Sprint, to hand over the “call-detail records” of their customers. According to an investigation by USA Today, this included “customers' names, street addresses, and other personal information.” In addition, the government received “detailed records of calls they made—across town or across the country—to family members, co-workers, business contacts and others.”
A person familiar with the matter told USA Today that the agency's goal was "to create a database of every call ever made" within the nation's borders. All of this was done without a warrant or any judicial oversight.

Imagine if the Castro's had the same capabilities to unconstitutionally spy on ordinary American citizens and world leaders like the NSA does. -

I'm praying that you wake up.
If only George Orwell could see us today. When he wrote “1984” back in 1948, he probably never imagined that the “totalitarian, bureaucratic world” that he imagined would ever actually become a reality. But that is precisely what is happening. We live at a time when the government monitors billions of our phone calls and emails and hardly anyone gets upset about it. We live at a time when corporations systematically collect our voiceprints and our televisions watch us. We live at a time when reporters that try to dig into the misdeeds of the government have their computers hacked, and when nearly one out of every three Americans has a file in the FBI’s master criminal database. The control freaks that run our society are absolutely obsessed with watching, tracking, recording and monitoring virtually everything that we do. We truly are becoming a “1984” society, and if we continue on the path that we are currently on eventually our world will be transformed into something more hellish than anything that George Orwell ever imagined.

#14 When there are 2.5 million homeless children living in your nation and nobody is calling it a “national emergency”, you live in a country that has gone completely insane.

And you're more worried about what the Cubans are doing in their country? -

Actually, it has been known for decades that all money spent in Cuba went directly to the Castro regime.

The point is that the Cuban people would have already have been helped if tourist dollars could help them since Cuba has been wide open for years. So more tourist dollars going to hotels and restaurants owned by the Cuban army do not mean that anything will change in Cuba. Nothing changed in North Korea when Rodman visited there--they are still starving and nothing changed in China in spite of all the things bought there by everyone in the world. Communism is repressive by nature and the common people are always suppressed, starved, tortured, and murdered.
So go ahead and visit Cuba--and sleep comfortably knowing that the Comandante is hoarding the proceeds. -

I would not go to a hotel if Obama owned it. And I don't care to stay in a tourist trap owned by the Cuban military with the Comandante Fidel the ultimate recipient of the receipts but I don't think that the Americans who want to go to Cuba care if Fidel gets the hard cash and also runs a child-sex ring.
Now I am not talking about people who visit Cuba to alleviate the plight of their relatives, but those who want white sandy beaches and cigars. -
Five Westminster paedophile rings probed by Scotland Yard
“There are at least five paedophile rings which involved MPs,” he said.
“Each of them involved at least one MP, some involved more, and these were groups of people who knew about the activities of one another.
“In some cases I believe they committed abuse together.”
Fourteen of the individuals identified by Mr Mann were Conservative politicians, five were Labour and three were from other parties.
Thirteen former ministers were among the list, Mr Mann said.

Maybe it's time we put a trade embargo and sanctions on the UK. -

Anyone wanna guess how many American kids are in Jamaican jails, because they traveled there, thinking marijuana was legal ? Sure seems like Jamaica uses marijuana to advertise it'self. They rake in a lot of money from rich parents abroad, slamming down about 3000 of them, a year.
But that's probably ok, since they're potheads Its their own fault, eh ? -
Maybe it's time we put a trade embargo and sanctions on Jamaica.

Maybe its time to stop being so stupid.
We import a lot of oil from Mexico, yet I had to sign a kidnap waiver to get a VISA to work there. -
You mean be responsible?
That doesn't go with being exceptional does it? -

However, in Mexico, the military does not own the hotels and restaurants.
Talk about stopping stupidity--the Saudis have declared economic war on us in order to stop our oil production and make us dependent upon them once again, but collateral damage has been done to Iran (perhaps the main target because the Saudis don't want Iran to have the atomic bomb), Russia, Venezuela, and Venezuela's client state of Cuba (or vice versa).
So was Obama trying to save the communists or trying to save the Shias?
