Right after I got my computer, some 7-8 years ago, I saw a site that would let you pick the music you liked & would burn a CD for you. I have no idea what it was now that I'm interested
Does this service now exist?

Most people burn their own (or get their kids to do it for them). Seven years ago, CD burners (CD-RW) were not so common; now DVD burners are not yet standard, but widely available.
Actually, MP3 players are starting to overtake CDs.

There have been many changes in music over the last few years.
iPod are where it's at these days instead of MP3 players.
You'll also want to look into iTunes and other similar services where you pay to download music.
