...Since March 2007 United Healthcare has paid $1.2 million to help keep me alive, and it has never once questioned any treatment or procedure recommended by my medical team. The company pays a fair price to the doctors and hospitals, on time, and is responsive to the emergency treatment requirements of late-stage cancer. Its caring people in the claims office have been readily available to talk to me and my providers.
But in January, United Healthcare sent me a letter announcing that they were pulling out of the individual California market. The company suggested I look to Covered California starting in October.
You would think it would be simple to find a health-exchange plan that allows me, living in San Diego, to continue to see my primary oncologist at Stanford University and my primary care doctors at the University of California, San Diego. Not so. UCSD has agreed to accept only one Covered California plan—a very restrictive Anthem EPO Plan. EPO stands for exclusive provider organization, which means the plan has a small network of doctors and facilities and no out-of-network coverage (as in a preferred-provider organization plan) except for emergencies. Stanford accepts an Anthem PPO plan but it is not available for purchase in San Diego (only Anthem HMO and EPO plans are available in San Diego)....
Tell me some more about the GOP's war on women.

Canter has five brain tumors, in addition to the tumors in her bones. Her husband Jay shared that the notice came as a crushing blow to them, saying “This came on us like a ton of bricks.”
The Canter’s feel betrayed because President Obama promised 36 times that if Americans liked their health care plans, they would be able to keep them. Their insurance company has offered them a new plan, but this is of little consolation to the Canters as the new plan is more expensive than their previous plan. Adding to their frustration, doctors cannot promise that the hospital will still accept their new healthcare plan. Jay sadly said “We don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Update:
Her health insurance plan is being canceled because it does not meet Obamacare requirements. Additionally, it stipulates that she must also carry benefits for maternity and pediatrics benefits, none of which she needs, as she will not be able to have children after her cancer treatment.... -

...Debra Fishericks, a Virginia Beach woman suffering from Kidney Cancer, has learned that her health insurance plan will be dropped due to Obamacare.
Fishericks has worked at Atkinson Realty for ten years and said that she had reasonable premiums under the company’s health insurance plan.
“We were happy, we had great insurance. We had continuing care for our employees,” Betsy Atkinson, owner of the realty company, told WDBJ.
The company was notified that their coverage did not comply with Obamacare requirements.
Fishericks has looked on the Obamcare website for a new policy, but to much dismay, as the plans on the website come with premiums that she cannot afford. “They just go up higher and higher when there is a pre-existing [condition]. There’s so many unanswered questions, Fishericks bemoaned....

Factcheck.com, politifacts.com, snopes.com -- all the Great Pretender apologists have spent years "proving" the ACA doesn't allow for "death panels." Well, no, not by name. But what else would you call these three cases? Oh ... "collateral damage," perhaps?

All three cases are women, as well. Remember the republican's "war on women" ?

The death Panel is real as "Screamin" Howard Dean admitted some months back. A certain person on this Forum needs to repent for his continued insistence that there was no such thing. I remember his name if he doesn't!

Not too long ago the country was patting itself on the back because Reagan had brought down the Soviet Union, in spite of opposition from the democrat leaders. I should mention that the final straw that broke the Soviets was the Strategic Defense Initiative which the reactionary-left dubbed Star Wars.
Now about 25 years later we are well on our way to becoming a communist nation, courtesy of the reactionary-democrat party and Baraak Hussein Obama! -

This is not about a death panel, but a blindness panel. My spouse has been taking a medication for glaucoma for about four years. The medication, in the form of eye drops, has worked very well. About a month ago the insurance company panel made the decision they will not longer cover that particular medication, but would another. She switched to that. Today, after using the new medication for about two weeks, she had an appointment with her glaucoma specialist. The result of the check was that the new medication is totally non-effective for her and her pressure is at dangerously high levels. When the insurance company was notified of this and ask for an override so she could get the medication that helps, their answer was, "tough not our problem", we still will not cover the older effective medication.
However life and death decisions are made by insurance panels. -

Perhaps you're being as honest about this as you are about other things on his board.
I simply don't believe you. I gave you links. You give us a non-research able story and ask us to buy it as truth. Not going to do it. -

Notice also,CTBoy, how my links contain information pertinent to the subject matter of my post. Almost like I'm not afraid to prove my point.

My guess is there are thousands of such decisions by insurance companies. Every person on this particular medication that has insurance from this company, and it is a big one, will no longer be covered. They either will go with a less effective medication or have to pay the cost on their own. As they are not published in newspapers or magazine articles they are not searchable. But they are there. Maybe you will believe when an insurance company refuses to pay for something you or one close to you needs.
Actually this one is traceable. The medication is Lumigan and:

At least you can sue an insurance company but when the Democrats take over the healthcare system, who will you sue?

It might help if you gave us the names of the medicines involved. Also, you might need to change doctors if you can find another doctor who will accept medicare since it is no longer paying what it costs to see a patient. -
