My wife and I went to see Defiance yesterday. It wasn't for children, but it was a good story about some courageous men and women.

My wife & I saw it over the weekend. You're right, not for children -- but a very good movie. I don't know if this happened there, but many in our audience applauded afterwards (but then again, it probably was a heavily Jewish audience here).

We also saw it.
Interesting reading on the actual story of the Bielski brothers.

Can you imagine to live as they did and see the world through their eyes today...
I know holocaust survivors but will never fully understand the depths of the horror they endured...
If times were to change in America we very well could become people of the forest... we take for granted the daily blessings that God bestows upon us...

I was speaking with a friend of mine who happens to be Jewish. His family emigrated to this country after the war from Eastern Europe. His father was one of the thousands who lived in the forest & resisted the Nazis.
