    The above is a tangent off the question I posed to @Silverhair who in one place seemed to imply that God doesn't give faith, then quoted Romans 10:17 in a vain attempt to argue that election was conditional.

    The question was, does God have to impart faith or not?

    Not a vain attempt, Rom 10:17, as you would know if you could look past your calvinism, is clear we have to hear the word of Christ before we can believe. You can see this in
    Rom 10:14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
    And again in
    Eph 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

    Even the fall back verse for the calvinist,
    Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
    does not help you in your vain attempt to have God give man faith to believe. The gift is salvation not faith.

    So the answer is, no, God does not impart faith?

    Note: this is a yes or no question.

    You can read can't you? Calvinists require man to be saved then God gives them faith so they can believe. God requires that man have faith so they can be saved.

    Since you have decided what my answer should be then why do you need an answer from me. It seems you calvinist know all the answers to your questions so why do you even bother asking them?

    It must really bother you when people do not fall into line with your theories.

    Not sure what Calvinists you're talking to, but election is not salvation.

    Actually, I expected you to answer just like this if you answered at all. Once you posted Romans 10:17 you were undone.

    God imparts faith. No one has it by nature.

    Then if God has to impart faith that would make Him responsible for all those that do not have faith so as to be saved. Sure does not sound like that God of the bible but sure does sound like the god of calvinism.

    But as per usual you ignore any scripture that shows your view is in error. Rom 10:17 is what is the undoing of your theology just as the other verses do. I notice that you do not respond to those.

    Even the fall back verse for the calvinist,
    Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
    does not help you in your vain attempt to have God give man faith to believe. The gift is salvation not faith.

    Pat yourself on the back and sit up straight and keep saying what a good calvinist I am. Ignoring clear scripture just shows how vapid your arguments are.

    I'm looking for the verse that says "This is God. You sinners have to crank up some faith in me or y'all can't get my love and affection."

    That is utter non-sense. God's word through His creation, Psalms 19:4, per Romans 10:17-18, gives all men faith. And faith is essential to knowing anything.

    Ever and anon the cry of the noncalvinist is Why doth He yet find fault?

    Paul has a reply, go to it and consider it.

    But my reply is, So? Is it unjust of God to leave some sinners where they are, and to, according to His own word, have mercy upon whom He will have mercy?

    But I have another question for the blustery silver-haired (snip)

    Is faith a good thing?

    Now you are just showing how dumb calvinists can be. Your lack of understanding of the bible is really showing.

    Those who resort in insults have lost. Your comments just show you do not even know your own theology.

    Must admit it really does get tiring dealing with all these (snip) calvinists on here.

    Major copout. You can deal bluster, but you can't take it. Answer the question, pansy.
