What would you say are the "moderate" denominations, as opposed to the liberal ones and the fundamentalist ones? I differentiate between "fundamentalist" and "conservative". So, if you want to include conservative with the moderate, please do so.
Denominations that are "moderate"

Moderate is liberal light. Not in any way can conservatives be lumped in with them.
-
Do you think conservatives can be lumped in with fundamentalists? -

Me thinks someone is back, probably not for long but back never the less.

Does anyone here think that conservative and fundamentalist are the same thing?

I would say most fundamentalists are conservatives but conservatives may or may not be fundamentalists.

Then again - there are different extremes of fundamentalists --
For example Westboro calls itself fundamental - but I doubt that no more 0.1% Fundamentals would align with Westboro Baptist. -

I would say that the LCMS is conservative bit not fundamentalist. I would say WELS is fundamentalist.

The Anglican Church of North America is moderate, the Anglican Church of America is conservative.

liberal/conservative about what exactly? These seem like subjective, arbitrarily defined terms.
What is a liberal in Christendom? -
Disciples of Christ: Jesus NOT the only way of salvation
Presbyterian Church, USA: Ordain gay pastors in gay relationship
The Episcopal Church: Resurrection is spirit of Christ living on in His followers
Reformed Church in America: Old Testament full of myths and inaccuracies and no longer relevant to this generation.
Here is a good example of 'Christian' liberalism, the president of Union Theological Seminary in NYC claims no heaven, no hell, no afterlife, no actual resurrection, etc.
I don't think there is a CofC on the planet that would question any of the essential beliefs of the Christian faith. Most of the churches that make up the above denominations have to struggle with these issues at each convention/synod/assembly -

Liberal? I would term all of the above heretical. I can see subtle differences of opinion, but there is a threshold of reasonableness that once crossed, you find yourself in the Wild West of unorthodox Christianity.
I guess a more interesting question might be, which denominations would be considered mainline Christianity, and what is the litmus test for such?
But there as vast differences of opinions even in what might be considered “conservative” churches: I used to teach a wed night class at a church of Christ, and I had an ELDER in that class admit they he did not believe in a physical resurrection. Wowzer! I about fell on my head!
One would think something so brazenly unorthodox would be ferreted out in an ELDER vetting process, but I guess not. But this is precisely how a church can run off the rails. That is, a nut job or two take a leadership role in one moment in time, a few folks agreed with them on one or two bizarre things, and you’re off to the races! -

I'd say less than that. I'd add a few more zeros before your one.

Being Liberal is all about going with gut feelings and following a mob mentality without any actual solid foundation to back up the stance, Like SOLA SCRIPTURA!
( :) What a cheap shot! :Biggrin)
