It is a witch hunt in a sense, because now classified data will be combed over in rather than taking her word that the emails were of a personal nature. She will not be able to pick and choose which ones will be disclosed.

It's not all that complicated. The GOP members were investigating Benghazi and discovered the private emails. The NYT caught wind of this and ran with the story. By your logic, Hillary herself "broke the story".

My logic says the source of the story is the GOP and it was fed to the NYT so that it wouldn't look partisan.

As I said before, you've got ISIS chopping off people's heads, Iran trying to blow up Israel, 47 Senators trying to coerce us back into war, and oh yeah...Hillary used a private email account.
