Why do we want others to accept our differences? I certainly do not care one way or the other what others accept or don’t! I can allow for but not accept others views. I will put it this way to you.... when I was looking around for a church, I happened into a conservative Lutheran Church. We and the deacons talked at length. We all agreed with conservative stances on Religion but not on doctrinal issues, one guy even called Baptistic distinctive as heretical. I finally decided that I could not go there and become a member. When I told the pastor, minister, bishop... whatever he went by he was aghast! He told me with time he could teach me the right way to understand the gospel as well as the traditions of that particular church and denomination. Obviously he was going to discredit my own understanding of gospel.

He wanted to argue the point, so I asked if he would be comfortable going to and sending his kids to a Baptist Church and he gave me a definitive answer... NO!

So I responded by saying that I’m not comfortable with your church and would send my kids there.... pretty much ended the conversation.

I was raised to respect my elders... they have wisdom. Apparently these young do not.

Because worship should be about God, church should be about discipleship, and Christians should be more focused on others than they are on themselves.

A better question is why are we so opposed to accepting the differences of other Christians.

    Many also have dementia.

Age does not matter when the elder ceases to look after raising up a godly youth in favor of settling in to their own comfortable traditions.

Because we ate called to disciple other people to be more "like Christ", not more like us.

Obviously you have never been to a good Primitive Baptist Church. We don’t segregate our kids... rather they are to learn from the parents, grand parents etc.

I have not been to Primitive Baptist churches but I have attended churches that do not offer a separate service for children. All that I've attended do have an age related bible study.

Last separate service for children resulted in arrests of two S/S teachers for solicitation. Before that same nonsense. Third church resulted in a teen pregnancy.

And just who disciples.... meaning can you guarantee that they are all regenerate born again people? I will answer that, no you can’t! Then, why am I going to put my trust in these churches. I’ve seen pastors who steal from the church, have affairs ( with congregants), involved in porn, rig up hidden camera to look up the dress of an office administrator. Disciple your Aunt Tillie, I wont have these people even come near my family... just as my mother never allowed me to serve as an alter boy when I was involved in the RCC.

    Confused
Sounds like a church comprised of non-Christians.

The strength of this church is the expositions preaching of the scriptures, the base groups, and the various out reaches and service to the surrounding community

Correction, 4 churches. My wife pegs them as ‘CINO’ or Christians in name only.

Be honest, in your exhaustive search, you never ever considered a PB church, right.

    Correct once again, Reformed!
This is in vogue now, but is building on sand.

Praise God that we have access to sound teaching online. So, while we may not be in a perfect church (from a teaching perspective), we do have other options. Of course, those other options should never replace the local church.

Why not? If there is nothing in your area but post modern entertainment centers and/ or heretical churches or Catholic Churches what do you expect a person to do? I personally have given up on the whole area. There is nothing that comes close to that PB Church in Florida so perhaps God is leading me there. But what about the rest that are trapped in this God forsaken area, good teaching churches (like Begg’s ) in Cleveland give people hope and allow them to connect and often stay connected.
