    Then candy wouldn't be a good alternative to discipleship anyway!

    We definitely need good discipleship and I am thankful to have had it in the Baptist Church. I was unfortunately not raised in a Christian home and when I came to the Lord I had no one to teach me. It caused me a lot of confusion, fear and frustration in trying to find the right denomonation and because of that I turned to God's word for my teaching. Since those days I have enjoyed membership in the Baptist Church and am so grateful to God for teaching me through His word and the church. Even when we don't have a person to turn to for guidance, He never leaves us alone but gives us His Spirit and His word. Thank you Lord! :praying:

    I voted not sure.

    Depends on your definition of discipleship.

    Being a desciple of Jesus - Yes.

    Young Christians need discipling and pastoring by other Christians. Mature Christians should get their guidance from the Lord through his word and spiritual leading. The more discipling from man that you need, the less mature christain you are. We should strive to be dependent on the Lord and not on man regardless of what position he holds.

    Discipleship implies (infers?) two way communication. How does one become a disciple of Jesus?

    Two way commumication?

    From the Christian to Jesus, via prayer and praise.

    From Jesus to the Christian, via scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
