No, I don't. For one, the magazine is not one I view as very reliable. But more importantly, just like you they have no way of knowing why some voted for Trump and why others voted for Clinton.
What Christian publication do you accept? Actually, this is an article analyzing why they voted for Trump. It doesn't question the fact that they did which is what you questioned.
Before you suspect that answer as a copout let me explain.
Democrats support a platform comprised of actions that are in themselves sin per Scripture. In defence they often point to the Republican platform by ascribing to their platform motives that may or may not be accurate (I think they often are) as just as sinful.
I can complain (I'm not a Republican), but a Democrat has no moral ground upon which to stand (a vote for Clinton was without a shred of doubt at least as immoral as Democrats suppose a vote for Trump ever could be).
But I am a Christian evangelical. Christianity Today are making assumptions they cannot back up to my satisfaction.
I have heard some say, such as a James Dobson, that they have personally spoken to the president about Jesus, and that He accepted Him as His lord and savior...
Joel Osteen has said he is a Christian. I wonder why so many Evangelical ministers shy away from supporting him. .
The issue is not so much what people say but what they do. President Trump and Joel Osteen may be saved - God only knows. But by their actions it is not evident.
OK.
If Trump is a Christian, he may only be a baby one, which does not translate into a model for believers or unbelievers.
But this is separate from his presidential status.
Jimmy Carter was supposed to be saved when he was president.
However, not only was his presidency an appalling disaster, he is still siding with decidedly ungodly policy makers who seek to undermine this country.
Don't get me wrong, I would "have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."
But the one does not guarantee the presidential leadership needed for the country.
Carter has been proving this daily.
When it comes to presidency, I'll take Trump's over Carter's, but even more so over Sanders' or Hillary's or Obama's.
(The latter's, not Trump's, ushered in and emboldened the current division in America).
In fact, I cannot think of any Democrat who opposes Trump whose presidency would be better than his.
And there are many Republicans whose presidency I can imagine would be worse.
What good is it being a vertebrate, if you're not going to use your spine?
What has the president done since elected that would make you question his salvation? he is strong pro life, and supported of Christian agendas and morals...
No. The fact is that the majority of what President Trump has claimed against the Democrats AND what the Democrats have said against the Republicans have been proven false.
The "most honest" man at that level has been Joe Biden. In this context he has only lied 87% of the time.
Before accepting such "facts", what is this standard for "LYING":
1) Saying I had French toast for breakfast when in truth it was just plain toast?
2) Saying "If you like your Dr., you can keep your Dr."?
3) Some indeterminate point between these two extremes?
Until that standard is declared, CLEARLY understood, and
AND applied equally to all parties, then this comparison is just one more example of third grade play-ground bickering!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:
