A friend of mine recently went to a specialist for a consultation to have some varicose veins on his legs checked out. He told me the doctor spent less than 5 minutes with him. The insurance plan that he has as a $2000 deductible which he hasnt reached yet so the cost for the doctor visit had to come out of his pocket. Are you ready for this?
$360.00! For a 5 minute doctor visit. I find this price gouging to the max.
He refused to pay it. After much haggling and arguing they finally settled on $150.00 -

We buy haealth care plans and abuse them to death visiting the doctor over every little sniffle. This has a geat effect on health care insurance costs and is unnecessary.
When you reach a certain age or if you have certain diseases and illnesses it may be necessary to visit the doctor for small things that can exacerbate the existing larger issues.
But some of the high costs of health care and therefore difficulties in getting medical help is of our own making.
