Eating Red Meat May Shorten Life Span

God gave us animals to eat. Everything that that lives and moves, shall be meat for us. God said that, so yer wrong.

Nothing to do with anything. I don't eat hormone meat.

To answer a caustic question.

Answered already. To say meat defiles a temple is adding to scripture. Show me some scripture to say meat defiles the body, or any temple. Show me some scripture that says eating meat is bad stewardship. You got nothing but humanistic opinion, and it doesn't stand up.

 

What you give is speaking specifically and only about the death that concerns mankind, thus no more morning, crying, or pain and is why 'their' (specific) tears are wiped away.

Life can be defined in various ways: one such way might be anything that grows of it's own self. Meaning that of itself it obtains what is needed in order to continue its existance and growth. This would include plants and any fruit they might bear. Thus to pluck one much less eat one means a death has occured. Yet, the scripture in Gen speak of God breathing the breath of 'Life' into man and that when man sins he will die. Not creation will die but 'man' will die. Death stings only man and is bane and fearful expectation of mans existence, of which Christ Jesus removes both it's fear and sting.

Come on Marcia, you know these things and that the very passages on this you gave are specific to mankind alone.

PS. Not all of 'us' are saying you are contending we should NOT eat red meat. My portion was making fun of these types of reports (as well as those which come shortly after stating the opposite) and what all these reports actualy state as a constant fact is that moderation is both the key and the rule to our biblical diets However we do at times need to *cough* adjust *cough* our moderations due to issues of health that might arise.

 

And next month we will have a report on the benefits of red meat...
Meat is good for you just like many other things God gives us to enjoy as long as it is consumed in moderation.

Argentina has the highest amount of red meat consumption in the world per capita. It is not just a food but part of culture. Consider that that the typical asado (like a BBQ only better!) One plans at least a half a kilo (roughly a pound of meat) per person.
People here live just as long as those in the US. So I say ¡buen provecho!

 

I think the key is moderation in all things. I am on a diabetic diet which limits my daily intake to 1200 calories rather than what I eat. The diet does prescribe certain foods for obvious reasons. If I want to have a BigMac, I must remember that half my diet is gone in that one hamburger!

You are correct, however, that the experts seem to change their "findings" every few weeks.

I imagine many of you will say, "I'm not giving up red meat!"
