First it was a different time and the issue was internal. Few want International control over the US except the far left. Apples and Oranges.

Thinkingstuff has already, hypothetically that is, “created” a good enough reason for the US Military to fight its own brother…
”For another the US military may feel that these people who rebel against the financial system imposed by the multi-nation committees will cause further problems by their activity threatening stability.”
Here in this scenario, the US Government will create the false assumption that the US financial systems stability relies upon the financial system imposed by the multi-nation committees. With this scenario the US Government has created a reason and has made it “personal” that will get them to fight its brother.
The Civil War was about States Rights, the Constitution, freedom and independence from the new Government of the North.
Those that would oppose this hypothetical scenario will oppose this “multi-nation committee” for the same reasons. And if it goes against the intrest of US Government, it will cause blood shed.
Hopefully, this will stay in the “hypothetical” column and the US Government would never allow a “multi-nation committee” to run our financial system.

The US is not divided over UN control. It is just not going to happen. -

I agree Rev, it's getting tough. I almost feel for any American's traveling abroad because we are being viewed as the cause of a world crises. Like we held guns to their heads and made them invest in America. -

The whole world is in trouble not just the US. Liberals may want to sell out because of their anti nationalism but they are really few. Most Americans are not going to lose their national identity. It was the free market and industry that got us out of the depression and it is the only thing that will get us out of this crisis.
I have to say though that Bush is scaring me greatly right now with all this government intervention. He is a huge disappointment. McCain has no room to say he is a maverick and will fight against pork spending when he just pushed this socialistic/communistic bailout that included so much pork. -

Rev, I wish I shared your optimism concerning the reaction of this nations citizenry, but I'm afraid I can't!
All one has to do is look at the fanatical devotion to the liberal politics just on this board to question whether there is enough common sense left in this country to successfully repel a highly sophisticated propaganda campaign from the left.
The questionable past and inexperience of "O" seems to matter not one whit to the "chosen", and his smooth tongue is mesmerizing the masses daily. Unfortunately, the supposed conservative side is only better by not nearly a large enough margin to suit me.
I firmly believe that this election is one more step to rendering the US of A to a 3rd world status and the only choice is whether to vote D and have it "now", or vote R and have it some few years later.
The only hope is a direct intervention of God and His mercy (certainly not justice --), or for the rapture to occur real quick, and let the yokels that want God out of gov't to experience the full effects of His absence.
Edited to add: This is one of those times I would like to be proven wrong, and the nation can/will bounce right back and continue to be the "land of the free and the brave"! -

Most Americans are more concerned for their personal lives than all the jockeying going on in Washington D.C. Americans can smell anti-Americanism a mile a way when they are paying attention. -

I most sincerely hope you are right on this issue Rev; I will gladlyaccept being wrong !!!!

Some of you seem to have more faith in the American public than I do. I tend to think this all will happen, or something close to it, with no revolt and hardly a complaint, except on backwater Internet sites that have no influence. Most people will know nothing about it, and not understand or care when they do. The media will barely mention it, if at all, and when they do, it will be given a positive, hopeful spin. And if the US government were to resist such a system, the prosperity of the rest of the world (and those who join this will indeed prosper for a time) would quickly cause a demand from the public to join in. Nothing is more important to Americans that economic prosperity.
I do agree with LeBuick about how many liberal voters are born.
