I'm in discussion on another site with some people who are combatting a doctrine that Jesus came only to save Israel. Now, maybe I've not gotten around enough, but I'd never heard that doctrine before.
Obviously, it's false.
Just wondering if any other readers have ever heard of this doctrine, and what denomination sect, ot cult is it from.
Thanx in advance to all who respond.
Ever heard this doctrine......?

Isa 56:7
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
We do not have to be Hebrew to be saved.
They are probably using the nation of Israel as a type of true believers, or house of Faith -
Humanly speaking He claimed to have come only to the House of Israel which is very easy to prove from isolated scriptures.
BUT
these scriptures are totally overridden by the Great Commission and remanded to the Abrahamic covenant..
Matthew 28
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. -
On that note, I should state that I do not hold with "Replacement Theology" (the idea that the Church has replaced Israel), but that nobody (Jew or Gentile) can have salvation outside of Christ Jesus. -

Don't care to listen to Hagee or Hanegraaf, but the idea is that Jesus said that He was sent to Israel before the Great Commission. That explains in part why Jesus never left Israel except for the flight into Egypt when He was an Infant to escape the Edomite Herod's slaughter of the Innocents but then He was called out of Egypt.
Hosea 11:1 (KJV) When Israel [was] a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
Matthew 2:15 (KJV) And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
Jesus said that He was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel:
Matthew 15:22-28 (KJV) And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, [thou] Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast [it] to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great [is] thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. -
Yes, Jesus was sent to the lost sheep of Israel. Israel rejected Him when they cried out "crucify Him". According to the New Testament, all who believe on His Name are the True Israel. -

Somewhere down the road I believe I've heard of that doctrine but the Bible teaches and I believe this one... Brother Glen:)
John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. -

Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. -

Jesus personally saved several non-Jews, such as the Samaritan woman to whom He preached, the woman whose daughter He healed, the canaanite woman who touched His robe, & the Roman whose servant He healed from afar. Then, we see people of every flavor in the area being saved thru the apostles' preaching. But Jesus was sent to the jews FIRST.
Romans 1:16"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek."
Now, gentiles didn't come any gentiler to the Jews, unless maybe it was a Samaritan, so Paul was showing salvation is open to ALL. After all, everyone was created by the SAME GOD. -
