Unless you missed it Obama just signed off on deploying 17000 more troops to Afghanistan. No public explanation and most importantly no one asking for an exit strategy. Where are all those who cried out for an exit strategy? Why the double standard among liberal politicians?
He didn't start this war.
He's trying to avoid losing it.
Bush abandoned Afghanistan to invade Iraq.
Afghanistan was supposedly where bin Laden and the most dangerous terrorists were.
The President made it clear during his campaign that he would draw down in Iraq and build up in Afghanistan. No surprise there. I fully support this. Afghanistan and the Taliban harbored Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. Iraq was Bush's chance to "get the guy who tried to kill my Dad", all while driving up his and Cheney's stock value in Haliburton and Blackwater.
There was no exit strategy talked about for Afghanistan in the short term, so your question is moot.
What do you want evidence of? That libbies cried for an exit strategy under Bush but ignores it under Obama. Do I really need to give you evidence of that?
Not at all. You have drunk Bush's Kool-Aid about both being the same "War on Turrur". It is not hypocritical at all. We have reason to be in Afghanistan. Not so much in Iraq.
I did not say anything about them being the same war and whether it is or is not is not relevant. Even if they are different, not saying they are, demanding an exit strategy as if not having one is needed and in error for Bush but not Obama is contradictory.
You need to go back and actually read my posts. That is not anything remotely close to what I have said.
I am saying where are the calls for an exit strategy from Afghanistan. It isnt about leaving it is about the lack of calls for a plan to get out of there no matter how long that plan may be. Where are the calls for a plan? We have been there much longer than Iraq. it seems only Bush needs a plan but Obama gets a free ride.
There has not been the hue and cry to pull out of Afghanistan...only Iraq. It isn't how long we have been there. I applauded Bush's decision to go into Afghanistan. Iraq was a different matter. I want us out of Iraq, and let's do the job in Afghanistan...although the horse (binLaden) has left the barn already.
