How Great Thou Art
are my favorites
I would be here a while if i listed all of my Favorite Hymns -
"One Day"
One day when heaven was filled with His praises,
One day when sin was as black as could be,
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin,
Dwelt among men, my Example is He!
Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever;
One day He’s coming—O glorious day!
One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain,
One day they nailed Him to die on the tree;
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected:
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He!
Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever;
One day He’s coming—O glorious day!
One day they left Him alone in the garden,
One day He rested, from suffering free;
Angels came down o’er His tomb to keep vigil;
Hope of the hopeless, my Savior is He!
Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever;
One day He’s coming—O glorious day!
One day the grave could conceal Him no longer,
One day the stone rolled away from the door;
Then He arose, over death He had conquered;
Now is ascended, my Lord evermore!
Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever;
One day He’s coming—O glorious day!
One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,
One day the skies with His glories will shine;
Wonderful day, my belovèd ones bringing;
Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine!
Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever;
One day He’s coming—O glorious day! -
I've always been partial to:
Crown Him With Many Crowns
He Hideth My Soul -
I really love to hear and sing, "It is Well with My Soul."
-
My all time favorite is "Grace Greater than our Sin". I sing this solo while playing fingerstyle guitar. The words to this song are powerful.
In His service
Chad -
I have to list "I Love To Tell The Story" as my favorite; especially the 4th stanza
I love to tell the story,
For those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting
To hear it like the rest.
And when, in scenes of glory,
I sing the new, new, song,
T'will be the old, old, story
That I have loved so long.
What a great testimony to the word of God! -
How Great Thou Art
The Old Account Settled
Till The Storm Passes By
In The Garden
Hide Me, Rock of Ages
How Long Has It Been?
Just a Closer Walk With Thee
Remind Me, Dear Lord
It Is Well With My Soul
Jesus Is All The World To Me
Oh I Want To See Him
Standing On The Solid Rock
Room At The Cross For You
Wonderful Grace of Jesus
Won't It Be Wonderful There?
He Ransomed Me
Faith Is The Victory
Victory Through Grace
Since I Have Been Redeemed
These are just a few. I'm sure later on I'll think of others and wonder why I didn't think of them to begin with. There are so many great songs. I'd recommend just about anything written by Fanny Crosby or P.P. Bliss.
