The scene where the song is sung in the movie is one of the best shots in any movie ever made. It is simply wonderful! -
I don't know if this counts as a "song" about rain, but my favorite one would be the chorus based on a setting in Exodus 9 "He Gave Them Hailstones for Rain" in Handel's oratorio Israel in Egypt.
If you're referring to more popular songs about rain, my favorite would be "Rhythm of the Rain" by the Cascades (c. 1962-63). -
I love rain, and one day me and my friend Sara sat down and we thought of all the songs there are that include rain. Thanks for bringing back that memory!
My FAVORITE song about rain is called "Remember When it Rained," by Josh Groban. I'm not sure if it's meant to be a spiritual song, but it is very mentally/spiritually fitting to me personally.
Wash away the thoughts inside
That keep my mind away from you.
No more love and no more pride
And thoughts are all I have to do.
Ohhhhhh Remember when it rained.
Felt the ground and looked up high
And called your name.
Ohhhhhh Remember when it rained.
In the darkness I remain.
Tears of hope run down my skin.
Tears for you that will not dry.
They magnify the one within
And let the outside slowly die.
Ohhhhhh Remember when it rained.
I felt the ground and looked up high
And called your name.
Ohhhhhh Remember when it rained.
In the water I remain
Running down
Running down
Running down
Running down -
I bought a single by CCR Have You Ever Seen The Rain in 1970.I never thought much about what the lyrics meant -- it was just so catchy and I loved the beat.Has anyone else appreciated that one?

Listen to the Rythm of the Falling Rain by The Cascades
Listen to the rythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that if you go and let me cry in vain
And let me be alone again
The only girl I care about has gone away
Looking for a brand-new start
But little does she know that when she left that day
Along with her she took my heart
Rain please tell me not as that seem fair
For her to steal my heart away when she don't care
I can't love another when my heart's somewhere far away
The only girl I care about has gone away
Looking for a brand-new start
But little does she know that when she left that day
Along with her she took my heart
Rain won't you tell her that I love her so
Please as the sun has set her heart aglow
Rain in her heart and let the love we knew start to grow
Listen to the rythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that if you go and let me and cry in vain
And let me be alone again
Oh, listen to the falling rain

Healing Rain
Healing rain is coming down
It's coming nearer to this old town
Rich and poor, weak and strong
It's bringing mercy, it won't be long
Healing rain is coming down
It's coming closer to the lost and found
Tears of joy, and tears of shame
Are washed forever in Jesus' name
Healing rain, it comes with fire
So let it fall and take us higher
Healing rain, I'm not afraid
To be washed in Heaven's rain
Lift your heads, let us return
To the mercy seat where time began
And in your eyes, I see the pain
Come soak this dry heart with healing rain
And only You, the Son of man
Can take a leper and let him stand
So lift your hands, they can be held
By someone greater, the Great I Am
Healing rain, it comes with fire
So let it fall and take us higher
Healing rain, I'm not afraid
To be washed in Heaven's rain
To be washed in Heaven's rain...
Healing rain is falling down
Healing rain is falling down
I'm not afraid
I'm not afraid... -
I would have been at least 16 when that song first hit the charts.
(And--just to set the record straight--the chorus in Israel in Egypt, would have been a little over 200 years before my time! )
