The case of Harlem Suarez, 23, of Key West reveals the purported threat of ISIS and its supposed cadre of lone wolves inspired by social media is not only drastically overblown, but largely created by the government.
On Tuesday federal officials said Suarez was arrested for planning to set off a backpack bomb at a beach in Florida and claim he was inspired by ISIS.
The entire case was manufactured by the FBI.
The agency gave Suarez a dummy bomb after he made remarks on Facebook about ISIS. Court documents say he had attempted to recruit people to join the terrorist group and commit violent acts.
A “source cooperating with the FBI” was then sent to help Suarez make a video urging “Muslim brothers to buy AK’s, knives and machetes and fight,” according to NBC News.
According to the government, Suarez also tried to buy an AK-47 online, although the weapon was not delivered.
In June the FBI sent two informants to assist Suarez in possible Fourth of July terror plots.
The FBI admits Suarez had no idea how to build a bomb or how to obtain explosives and paid one of the informants $100 to build it for him. Suarez bought a box of nails for the dud bomb delivered by FBI informants.

Good for the FBI! Catching the idiots through the use of stings and fake equipment to keep their grubby hands off the real stuff. Bravo!
-
I don't trust any government agency under Obama's thumb, including the FBI, but...
Nothing wrong with a good sting operation to eliminate a wannabe terrorist. -
I wonder how long before the FBI starts using these same "sting operations" to set up and take down "right wing extremists".
Will you two still be singing the same tune?
Time will tell. -

Can't take down a "right wing extremist" in a sting unless they go along with a plan to commit some type of mayhem, which makes them no better than a drug dealer, a contract killer, or a wannabe terrorist.
I think we have some time. -
Constitutional rights?
You forfeited them when Bush and Cheney used the "fear of the unknown" to gain your consent to set up a unitary presidency remember?
All we have now is the ghost of a constitutional republic. Anyone can now be labeled a "terrorist" at any time and most people will believe it without question or further examination into the facts. -

The FBI admits he didn't have a "WMD" until they supplied one. The FBI admit the kid didn't even know how to make a "WMD".
Instead of going to the kid's house and interview him about the statements he made and obtain a warrant to search the place for materials that could be constructed into a "WMD" and putting him under surveillance they dressed up and posed as "terrorists" and supplied him with the "WMD" and encouraged him to carry out an attack even to the point of helping him make a video.
The kid should have been investigated and if need be arrested and placed in a jail or nut house for making dangerous statements and threatening the lives of others.
Instead the FBI set him up with the "WMD" so they could turn around and bust him for being in possession of a "WMD" to get another sensational headline.
This is nothing more than the FBI creating another justification for their huge tax payer funded budget.
These "stings" aren't motivated by any interest the FBI has in keeping us safe from "terrorists" but rather an interest in creating justifications for continuing it's own existence and to persuade us that "domestic terrorism" is the newest justification for reducing any constitutional rights we may think we have to nothing.
How many people in your town, city, county, state would believe you were guilty of a crime before you even went to court? -

Where is the FBI in that? -
Did you want to make a comment about this new agency or did you just want to say the FBI isn't part of this new agency, . . . yet? -
What are "ideologically motivated terrorist activities"? -
