Urban Meyer will step down after the Sugar Bowl, citing health reasons.

Various media sources say it is an aggrivation of a brain cyst diagnosed years ago, while others say it is a heart valve-related condition or possibly an anxiety disorder. Pat Dooley is reporting that Meyer also feels burned out. It is likely he will remain with the university in an administrative position. Rumored candidates are Dan Mullen, Miss St coach (former FL OC); Charlie Strong, Louisville coach (just hired, but was DC at FL for two coaches); current Utah coach and former Meyer Asst Kyle Whittingham, Former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan, TCU coach Gary Patterson, and former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville, and former Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden. Shanahan is thought to be a longshot, as is Gruden and Strong, and Mullen was not universally liked.

I hope that Coach Meyer is able to overcome whatever difficulties he may be encountering.
