A man in St. Lucie County, Fla., was arrested after allegedly gave his girlfriend a “wet willy” while he was belligerent, an affidavit says.

A local sheriff’s deputy was called to the home of 47-year-old Joseph Sireci in mid-August. The man’s girlfriend claimed that she found Sireci drunk on the living room floor after she returned home from work.

According to an affidavit reviewed by the Treasure Coast Newspapers, Sireci went with his girlfriend, who has not been identified, and her daughter to a different person’s home. There, Sireci “continued to drink and be belligerent,” according to the affidavit.

Then, on the way home, Sireci allegedly grabbed his girlfriend’s hand, pulled her arm and “continued by giving her a ‘wet willy’ sticking his finger in her ear,” the affidavit says, according to the newspaper.

Assault, plain and simple. He was drunk. He "grabbed her wrist" and shoved his finger in her ear. Domestic abuse. A must arrest.

Everyone who pursues these charges should be slapped.

Wet willies....they are kinda gross!! Well, they are really gross.

What she should have done was kick him to the curb and call the police if he came back. But I don't know how hard he grabbed her.

Would have never guessed the side of the abuser is taken. Never in a million years.

I'm surprised you encourage violence against a victim of domestic abuse. That, of course, is the next step, just slap her around if she dares to press charges for the "little, funny abuse".

Ha, Ha, Ha, an't that funny. Some woman dared to call the cops just because her drunken boyfriend grabbed her wrist, held her against her will and shoved his finger in her ear. Ha, Ha, Ha.

All in front her daughter, humiliating her, just to teach the little one that the man gets to do whatever he wants and the woman can't fight back.

And if she calls the cops, make sure the daughter knows the abuser will be supported by some, who will demand the mother be slapped around because she called the cops.

    Great choice of words Revmitchell.

Courts are for dealing with crimes. Abuse that doesn’t leave a mark (like a wet willie) being treated the same as real abuse undermines the ability of the courts to deal with real abusers. She can simply “trespass” her boyfriend and file a restraining order if she fears him and then if he ever returns to her house he is arrested for a felony. Nobody will be laughing at the charges then and wondering if this is a legitimate complaint or not. She will have then taught her daughter how a woman really defends herself.

If he grabbed her and left marks on her arm, then this story has nothing to do with fingers in the ear.

The law doesn't require "marks" to be left for "real abuse" to occur. He grabbed her wrist, held her against her will, and shoved his finger in her ear. That is a legitimate complaint.

He wasn't trying to be funny. He was showing her he had power over her and she couldn't stop him. That's how abuse works.

This was a crime. She doesn't have to wait until he kicks her teeth in and beats her daughter half to death to file charges.

    Good for her.

So if she wants to pursue charges she should be slapped too. Wow.

Frankly, the headline is the problem. The man was charged with battery.

There is no abuse in a wet willy. It is a shame in these days we have such extreme overreactions to things. It may or may not be funny I wasn't there but its not abuse. No one wants anyone abused or defend abusers and sticking your wet finger in an ear should not amount to such a charge. Good grief

Would there be a distinction if the woman was given a wet willy by a total stranger? Would that be an arrestable offense?

Maybe he should try it on the next police officer he sees and then report the results back to the board.
