Florida school district bans Bibles on Religious Freedom Day

God's Law is above man's law. When the laws of state or nation are opposed to the Law of God, no one is obligated to obey the laws of men rather than God. Such has always been the contention of true Christians.

Right, Christians are above trespass laws.

This conversation is going no where targus. It is now just ignorant bantering.

You follow Jesus Christ according to the dictates of your conscience, as will I. Just please don't cast the lot to have your brethren jailed for preaching Christ.

It would have been good if you would have first read the article before forming an opinion on the subject.

From the first sentence in the OP...

"... a ban on Bible distribution on public school campus"

Not near - on school property.

Did Jesus advocte breaking the law? I don't think so.

These people have plenty of other places to hand out Bibles. Why are they insistent on doing so where they expressly do not have permission from those who God has set in authority over the school property?

Careful, now.

Remember, there is Biblical precedent for civil disobedience. ("We ought to obey God rather than man," as well as, "We cannot help but speak...")

In addition, I think we should be careful about discounting the very thing that God may have called some of these people to do.

Could you point to the specific post(s)?

Hey - here is an idea....

If handing out Bibles wholesale with no other sharing of the Gospel is so effective why stop there?

Why not print up a bunch of fliers with just www.biblegateway.com printed on them and drop them across the countryside from airplanes.

We would be a Christian nation in a matter of days...

No, I am just wondering why some Christians think that they have to be controversal and confrontational about their evangelizing.

I suspect that it may have more to do with drawing attention to their organization than to soul winning.

I just happen to personally believe that one on one sharing of the Gospel is more effective than simply passing out Bibles wholesale.

Maybe I'm misreading you...but you seem less than enthusiastic over the ministry performed by groups such as the one mentioned in the OP.

Oh...... but we don't have to concern our selves that the end could be near.....

But....... in that time .......many will easily take offense.... brother will turn against brother, child against parent and parent against child... Christian against Christian.....???? No doubt!

Preach it RB! We either gather togather under the banner of Jesus and stand or we are scattered. If we aren't careful to pick our battles around the real issues which make a difference to true faith.... like the diety of Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection, his eternal existance before the creation of the earth, his physical return..... no salvation in any other name.... we will easily be broken over issues/diferences which, in final anaylsis, are barely of temporal importance... if at all.
