The Florida Gators have released statements from both Will Muschamp and athletic director Jeremy Foley following today’s news that Muschamp will be dismissed as Florida’s head coach after the regular season.

“Upon evaluation of our football program, we are not where the program needs to be and should be,” Foley said in the official school release. “I will be forever grateful to Will and his staff for their unwavering commitment to the University of Florida and the mission of our athletic program.”

“Will is as fine a man as you will ever meet, and I will always cherish our relationship with him and his family,” Foley added.

Muschamp expressed gratitude to Foley and others at Florida and took accountability for not getting the job done.
