Hello,
I see this guy posting about the commandments. Any reason why you skipped this one? What views are held here about the Sabbath Day? Is it still in effect for the church today? If so, very few Christians are following it practiclly. Just going to church on Sunday isn't enough.

Jesus Christ IS the Christian Sabbath
Matthew 11
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Hebrews 4
9 There remaineth therefore a rest (Sabbatismos) to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. -
Historically the early church worshipped with the Jews on the Sabbath. But as time went by they worshipped on the Sabbath and on Sunday. Then it became on Sunday to celebrate the resurrection.

Right on HankD!
We don't forget the 4th commandment--rather we celebrate Christ's fulfillment of it. So we rest from works of the Law in Christ.
The Sabbath is the last day of the week. Typologically, the O.T. Jews awaited rest at the "end of the week", once the Law was brought to it's completion in Christ.
Christ demonstrated His completion of the Law's requirements on the first day of the week--thus we celebrate His resurrection on Sunday. Since His work was completed at the "beginning of the week"--no more work remains for us to do! We are free from the burden of the Law in Christ.
In the past, covenant theologians clouded the issue by calling Sunday the Sabbath. And today, this great New Testament truth is being increasingly clouded over by those who have greater respect for the Old Testament than the New (especially Messianic believers). What a shame to go back into bondage to the Law's demands when Christ settled that account long ago.

Gunther,
Though we've had our eschatological differences, I'm glad we agree on the more important things--like how to live the Christian life now!
Free indeed,
