Suddenly, I have been getting the e-mails that you describe. Lots and lots of spam. I do not have a blog and I do not have a website.
Most of the spam mail does go into my spam folder, but not all.
So why am I getting tons of spam e-mail?
I have a firewall, I have something that is supposed to stop this not sure what it is called, but it is still happening.
Free Baptist Blog - not a good idea IMHO.

Hello,
genesis12 it sounds as if you have adware or spyware running on your computer. The only advertisement that we currently are running on BaptistBlog.org is a google ad on the main page and google links at the top of every blog. Please post your blog address or email it to baptistblog@gmail.com and we will look at it.
BTW, it is a bit bulky to use the site currently but we are working to streamline it. It really has been a case of launching too early...
Thanks
Andrew
Webmaster -

Has anybody noticed a couple of blogs on baptistblog.org that looks like they've been attacked? genesis12 may be on to something.
I like reading the blogs and comments. If you scroll down the left-hand side, there is a category called "Most Commented Articles". The 1st one is by someone named "sibermike7" and has 93 comments...looks like all spam.
The 2nd one is by our own Tater called "Clingy People" and has 48 comments, most of which are spam.
Both articles look like they're continuing to get hit, even today. Not sure why those two seem to be singled out, but looks like there may be a problem.
If someone wants to comment, do they have to enter an email address?
CJ -
no you dont have to enter an email address. I dont see all the comments.
-
uhm...ok...yes i do, lol. Whats up with that?? I dont need no Viagra!!!!
-
Do you have to enter an email address to register for a blog? Just wondering because spammers do latch on to email addresses. In this case, looks like they've latched onto SOMETHING!
Can't figure out why those particular two articles have generated the spam. I looked at them because they had so many comments...figured with that many comments, it must've been something I needed to read!
Not sure who "owns" the blog website, but somebody probably ought to let somebody know! -
same guy who owns this one does, I believe. Yes, you do have to enter an email address to get a blog. I thought you meant just to comment or post on one. Sorry. That IS a little scary.
-
ok, I have deleted "Clingy People" from my blog. Let's see what happens...
-
You had it right, Tater...first question was about commenting, which you answered; second question was about registering!
At least now I know I don't need to keep up with the comments on THOSE two articles, even though I did like your "Clingy People" blog!
