In the case of Ezekiel, however, the entire book is a presentation of God's holiness and his anger/hatred of sin.
I suppose this could be said of the entire Bible. Excuse me as I refuse to confine my interpretations to such constraints
From Judah to Israel, to Babylon to Tyre to Sidon to Edom to Egypt, etc, the book speaks of historical figures and nations whom God will judge.
Yes. Each and every one being manifestations in this terrestrial realm of the celestial beings behind them. Example:
Jesus said:
30 I will no more speak much with you, for
the prince of the world cometh: and he hath nothing in me; Jn 14
Who actually came? How was this 'prince' manifested in this realm?:
3 Judas then, having received
the band of soldiers, and
officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons. Jn 18
It is important to understand this before jumping into other speculative interpretations.
10 to the intent that now unto
the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God, Eph 3
12 For
our wrestling is not against flesh and blood,
but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6
It is important to understand this so that you don't confine yourself to the dry, barren land of literal, by 'the letter' only, interpretation within His magnificent word.
Another example, Gen 3:15:
15 and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and
thou shalt bruise his heel. Gen 3
How was the serpent manifested in this terrestrial realm? How did he wound our Saviour?:
42 Jesus said unto them,
If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I came forth and am come from God; for neither have I come of myself, but he sent me.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech?
Even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father it is your will to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and standeth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof. Jn 8
It was indeed a celestial being, Satan, that murdered Christ, but manifested in this terrestrial realm through his emissaries.
