No freewill here.
So, the nonsovereigntist would have us believe that God left to chance the final destiny in the hands of people who hate him.
What a cruel God who is uncaring.
Arminianism is bad theology coupled by spineless preachers.
How I long for them to man up to the Scriptures and tear down their idols of self.
God is the center of everything not man.
How tragic that so many have fallen victim to such ridiculous theology.
Just a word of hope, I was saved out of believing that I controlled God.
How I wish many on this forum (and some who won't tread these waters) would reject self worship and come to Christ.
Those things you listed all have to do with the flesh!
Free will has to do with the spirit!
The spirit must be reborn in order to be eternal, and it is in the spirit where free will resides, not the flesh!
Did you not read the article Ken posted about the young people who are having a resurgence of Calvinism? You wanna talk about an "idol of self?"
That's exactly what Arminians believe. I'm not sure why you are posting this.
It is very sad that one has to resort to such non-Christian rhetoric. Words like this are the things that tear churches apart (see Dauphin Way Baptist Church.) I am not sure why you decided to post these ramblings, but I assure you that I have heard many more Calvinists say such vicious things than Arminians. I am truly sorry that you believe that Arminians are worshipping themselves. It shows shows your own ignorance in the matter.
But, I'm going to forgive you of this, although it is not easy for me to do so, admittingly. Perhaps one day you will gain the wisdom to know that Jesus Christ aloen provides salvation, not clinging to Calvinist doctrine.
Scott, I am hoping you believe what you actually just said.
Christ alone provides salvation.
According to arminians, he only provides the way.
You totally missed the point.
God determines all of this without any consultation from man.
Yet, he supposedly merely looks to see who will come to him as an enemy?
Please, O.J. had a more convincing story.
And ya know what?
I agree with you wholeheartedly. My answer was intentionally absurd because absurdity is a fitting response to the initail post.
Both of these problems you state are true of the original post.
Funny that you can see the absurdity in one but not in the other.
The tu quoque fallacy that you claim is not there as he admits that the post was sarcasm. Unfortunately, Preach the Word's post was serious, yet you say nothing about the logical fallacies found there.

[/QB]</font>[/QUOTE]He was saying "mine was absurd because yours was absurd", which is, IMO, the "you too" fallacy.
More important, however, is the fact that he did not substantiate his assertion that anything about the original post was absurd.
He just said it was, and that was his reason for responding with absurdity.
Yawn.
