Friendship has it's uses, such as friends you've had since before your conversion. However that shouldn't be your only or even primary means of sharing the gospel since you only have so many friends. The world is a lot bigger than anyone's list of facebook buddies.
And 1-2-3 pray after me is about the worst example of "evangelism" imaginable. Obviously I don't know for sure, I'm not God, but I would wager that more people are under a false sense of security due to this method than are truly born again using it.
Its on one hand hardest way to witness, as family and friends know you the best ususally, warts and all, but also the best, as they can see the change in your life, hopefully!
How long will you wait to tell someone that he is a sinner and needs a savior? Salty why do you expect to build a friendship with everyone on the street before you witness to them? Salty how are you any different than the Mormons who are great friends? Friendship evangelist often have one thing in common and that is their inability to read the Bible clearly in matters of evangelism, and they love to elevate their experiences, and opinions above the scripture.
There are exceptions in that God may use "friendship evangelism" but its not the norm.
Seems to me Jesus spent a lot of time making friends as well as a lot of time confronting the hardened.
Not everyone hears the Gospel in the same way. And no one method works for everyone. And sometimes we sow, sometimes we plant, sometimes we water - but God does the reaping.
Methods - just a tool in the tool box. Some have more tools than others, but let each one use the tool he has.
