The fuel cost in my town just went up .32cents this morning. We are now at 4.00 a gallon as of 11 am .

I live in centralia, IL . It is about one hour east of St. Louis , Mo.

Has the fuel price jumped where you live also?? I mean in the last day.

U.S. Refiners Accelerate Closings as Ike Strengthens

U.S. Refiners Accelerate Closings as Ike Strengthens (Update1)
By Christian Schmollinger and Nidaa Bakhsh

Sept. 12 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. refiners are speeding up plant closures as Hurricane Ike gathers strength toward the Texas Gulf Coast, home to 23 percent of domestic oil-processing capacity.

About 19 percent of U.S. refining capacity is being shut before Ike makes landfall today. Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Europe's largest oil company, started shutting down its Port Arthur, Texas, refinery because ``of shifts in Hurricane Ike's track,'' the company said on its Web site.

``Ike is headed into the heart of the refining industry,'' Bruce Bullock, director of the Maguire Energy Institute at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, said in an interview. "The damage is likely to come in flooding, a lack of power for an extended period of time.''

Ike is forecast to "become a major hurricane prior to reaching the coast,'' the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. Refiners including BP Plc, ConocoPhillips and Exxon Mobil Corp. are securing plants from Texas City, Texas to Houston.

They are up about 10 cents, but I did spot a station, next to interstate of all places for lower gas, that was up only about 3 cents.

Fuel has jumped about $1 a gallon since this time yesterday. It's about $4.20 - $4.50 now. Scary. One station is already out of diesel fuel for semi-trucks.

I was just about on empty and filled up for 3.76 at Wal Mart. All they had left in any of their pumps was supreme, but they were selling it for the reg unleaded price. That's the cheapest in our town, BTW. The others are running 3.89-3.99 for unleaded.

I paid $3.35 yesterday. Have no idea what it is going for here today. We have a local station that is always less expensive than WalMart. Boycott WalMart!

I just saw it for 3.99 here. And Wal MArt is usually cheaper here, why boycott that would be silly.

I could only get $20 of gas this morning, and supreme at that. Everything else is dry. Prob gonna have to stay home from church tomorrow because we have enough to get the truck to a gas station.

Brent just got 1 gallon of gas for the lawnmower @ $4.11. That is a 46¢ per gallon rise since late yesterday afternoon.

I'm going to have to sell my car to mow my grass...
