I brought my John Baskett 1732 AV to a book restoration company in Philadelphia today.
Had a great time talking books with the owner.
He says about 30% of the books they restore are bibles.
I'm even thinking about taking a beginners course in book restoration in Virginia later this month.
The book restorer will professionally recondition my bible, reattaching the leather cover, cleaning it up and make it look like new - for a price $$$
He says it should last another 300 years.
I should get it back in a couple of months.
I looked on-line for the cost of a similar bible and came across this one that someone may want to bid on.
I'm passing on this one - my wife would kill me.
It looks to be a rather good price - I bet it will go up sharply soon.
Remember there's an overseas shipping charge too.
