(27) So God (~yhla) created (the verb is SINGULAR) man in his own (a third masculine SINGULAR suffix in Hebrew) image, in the image of God (~yhla - we know this is singular as well from context - the preceding suffix tells us) he created (the verb is SINGULAR)

There is a plural pronoun ("our") with a singular ("likeness....image"). Man was made in the "image" of God not in the image of any "council" consisting of angels or other created beings. If this refers to any "council" it consists of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

John Gill, said the plural of majesties was not introduced until after the Babylonian captivity.

 

This might shock some who have known me along time on here... But the other day I was reading a book recommended by a preacher friend of mine, who has been in the ministry over 60 years. He said every Christian should read this book, so it is now in my collection... Saint Irenaeus Of Lyons Against Heresies... What I have read so far is they have gods creating gods, creating gods... There are gods of lower order and gods of higher order... Here a god there a god everywhere a god... And I'm plodding through it, and I am determined to finish it... Its only 627 pages and I'm on page 73... Christian down through the ages had to fight this "CRAP" and we are blessed by Almighty God to understand some what the triune Godhead... I try to understand it everyday... I doubt anyone down through history no matter how smart they are ever understood it, in its entirety... NNE!...
