Note the inability to explain that the will of God remains the same, whether folks are given in the past, present, or future.

Colossians 1:13, "For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

Paul was placed into Christ after Christ died, thus was given to Christ after Christ died. Pay no attention to those who deny scripture after scripture because it conflicts with their man-made false doctrine...

Everyone placed into Christ by God is thus given to Christ, and Christ has said He will not cast them out...

On and on, the advocates of false doctrine make generalized claims, taint so, etc.

Note the inability to explain that the will of God remains the same, whether folks are given in the past, present, or future.

Colossians 1:13, "For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

Everyone placed into Christ by God is thus given to Christ, and Christ has said He will not cast them out... See 1 Corinthians 1:30 and John 6:37.

All the elect were In Christ before the world was as scripture says. You do not like that God is God evidently.
All were given by the Father to the Son before the world was...despite your improvisions to the contrary.

Nope. Clearly the Bible teaches that all of the elect were given to Christ before the foundation of the world. If not, then this verse would mean only Paul and the saints in Ephesus were chosen before the foundation of the world. No, all of God's elect were chosen before the foundation of the world and placed into Christ. Election happened before the foundation of the world, calling happens in time.

Ephesians 1:4 according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Once false claim after another, the avalanche tactic, to bury truth under post after post of falsehood. Scripture precludes anyone being in Christ, or even chosen to be God's people, before they existed as not a chosen people. 1 Peter 2:9-10.

See post #66 KenH. Scripture precludes anyone being chosen and placed in Christ before they existed as "not a people." Ephesians 1:4 refers to our corporate election as the target group of God's redemption plan, when God chose Christ to be His Redeemer, He corporate chose those His Redeemer would redeem. Thus He chose us in Him... meaning He chose us corporately when He chose Christ to redeem as the Lamb of God.

First of all, the scriptures do not present unsaved men as corpses. The idea is ludicrous. Second, God has told us over and over what his gift to men is, and it is nowhere defined as faith to believe the gospel and to be saved. The first man that God named who clearly and definitely exercised faith in the scriptures is here.

Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

This event was 4000 years before the scriptures testifies that God poured out his gift upon Israel first, and later on the gentiles. The gift of God is the Spirit of God whose permanent presence in the body of a repentant and believing sinner is salvation, because the Spirit is the life of God and is eternal.

Anyone who does not have perfect knowledge must have faith. If a person has perfect knowledge then he would not need faith. He would know perfectly. This can be proven quite easily from 1 Cor 13 to be true because partial things will end when the perfect thing that is mentioned in that chapter comes. The perfect thing is defined as the eternal state when Christians will be glorified and that which is in part, which is defined in the chapter as prophesy and knowledge, will be done and Christians will know as they are known, and there will no longer be a need for faith and hope. Remember Rom 8 where we are told that hope that is seen is no longer hope.

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Faith and hope will not make it to the eternal sate. They could not exist there.

The gift of God is eternal life, scriptures says, and eternal life is the Spirit of Christ, and we are told in 1 Jn 5, "he that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the son of God hath not life. Obviously, we do not have the physical Jesus dwelling in our bodies if we are saved, because he is sitting on the Father's throne in heaven now, but we have his Spirit in us.

If any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Romans 8:9 says. Sinners must obey God by faith and believe in Christ and what he did to reconcile God and man or he cannot be saved. The scriptures clearly teach this truth.

I see that @Van is still peddling a thinking that diminishes the divine attributes of God.

Accordingly, his view is filled with misinformation and even adding words to the Scriptures that they may be supportive of his views.

Ultimately, his view denies God has all knowledge, knowing even the thoughts and intents of the heart prior to human even thinking. (Psalm 139)

His view determines that God is conformed to human timing, and not the God of time and Space who places boundaries and limits to His purpose.

His view is that humankind can actually thwart the purposes of God, making humans more powerful than God. He inappropriately uses Matthew repeatedly in this false presentation.

His view is that God is not all wise, for he presents that God is just wise enough to establish that some nebulous group will be predestined and elected, but not knowledgeable about the specific members of that grouping.

His view presents God as not quite all seeing and understanding, for the humankind must make expressions and God must wait to see if the expressions are made with enough veracity as to then warrant salvation.

He has exalted human kind to actually have the ability to conjure up human faith pure enough to be acceptable to God.

Of course, there are those who are drawn into what this person has posted.

Didn’t the Lord discuss a parable about the blind leading the blind and the consequences?

I rarely use the Berean Bible. My opinion is that it is highly accurate in rendering Ephesians 1
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. 4For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love 5He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One.7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 9And He has made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ 10as a plan for the fullness of time, to bring all things in heaven and on earth together in Christ.11In Him we were also chosen as God’s own, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything by the counsel of His will, 12in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, would be for the praise of His glory.13And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth—the gospel of your salvation—you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is the pledge of our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession, to the praise of His glory.

Agedman, there is no excuse for you to be this misinformed. The reason for this Ephesian letter is to reveal an eternal plan of God that he will work out in this age from the cross to the Day of the Lord, or to his second coming. The plan is the purpose for this age and it defines and explains the history of this age, beginning in Acts 10 and going forward to this very day. The purpose is to form a bride for the Lord Jesus Christ, the second Adam, from his body, and to include gentiles together with them as equally the sons of God as the Jews, and then to present his bride without spot or blemish to the Father.

This is one of the "mysteries of God' and has remained a mystery for those whose minds have been blinded by ignorance of the scriptures and by false religious teachers, energized by Satanic forces. This mystery is called by Paul in this letter, "the mystery of Christ" and is it's theme. What we know so far is that the Jews were in this body first, and later the gentiles were included. The inclusion is clearly distinguished by Paul in Eph 1:12-13, wher he stopped using our and we and began to use the pronouns Ye and your, because he is careful in this letter to keep these two groups separate in order to teach the doctrine of the New Testament church of Jesus Christ.

Now, why did God keep this information from Satan and men until after the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Do we know? Are we told? The answer of course is yes, we are told and we do know. Remember that Paul said he spoke of the mystery before in few words? Where did he do that?

Well, Ephesians was written in AD 60 and 1 Corinthians was written in AD 54. He had mentioned this mystery to them but was unable to teach them at that time because of their carnality. But here is some things he said.

1 Cor 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

Now why did he say he kept it hidden? Can you believe?

8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

There it is! Plain as the nose on your face but I already know that Calvinists will not believe it because if they did they would have to chuck Calvinism, and they will not do it.

    Now, watch this;

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

The Spirit was not given to men as the third part of their being until Jesus had risen from the dead and ascended back to heaven. He, the Spirit, is the only one who can teach the saved man these truths about what God has prepared for them that love him. He says that below.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

To understand the mystery of Christ one must possess the Spirit and the Spirit must teach him. He must also have the words of God.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Just WOW. How plain does it get?

1 Cor 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Calvinism destroys the truths of Ephesians and the mystery of Christ.

1 Cor 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

I hope this is helpful because it is the truth. We do not have just a difference of opinion. The scriptures are truth.

I don’t think I brought up Calvinism in my post.

Am I to take your post as in agreement with @Van’s views?

What makes you think that Calvinism has any issue with how you presented Corinthians? Unless I missed something in reading your post (which is very likely at this time) I don’t really see a huge disagreement.

The presentation by me of Ephesians was without comment other then stating the source.

Man is prone to elevate the status of man, and diminish the status of God. Just notice how even one word in the song, "At the Cross", has changed over the decades. It has gone from "for such a worm as I" to "for sinners such as I" to "for such a one as I."

Man insists that he must have some contribution, some part, even if it is a tiny part, in his salvation, when the truth is he has no contribution, no part to add to the complete, finished work of Christ. And if one thinks he has a part in salvation, then he believes a false gospel, in which there is no salvation at all.

Agedman's post is simply a gratuitous attack on me personally. This is all they have folks, generalized false statements calculated to disparage the messengers of truth.

    1) Does the biblical view diminish the divine attributes of God? Nope
    2) Does the election of Ephesians 1:4 being corporate indicate God cannot elect individuals according to His purpose? Nope
    3) Is God "all knowing?" Yes
    4) Does Psalm 139 say God knows our thoughts before we have them? Nope It says God knows our words before we formulate them. However His knowledge of us comes from searching us, thus our thoughts or intents are found by a search of us. Thus after we exist.
    5) Is God constrained by time? Nope! He declares the end from the beginning.
    6) Can man thwart the plan or purpose of God? Nope
    7) Could God have chosen the individuals for salvation before they existed? Yes. Did He? Nope
    8) Did God have to choose those whose faith He credits as righteous? Nope. Did He? Yes
    9) Is our "filthy rag" faith pure? Nope Does God credit the "dirty rag" faith of some individuals, turning a sows ear into a silk purse? Yes
    10) Every biblical doctrine is found in scripture, not the rewrites of people.

Thus his entire post presents his usual list of false charges, to disparage me personally. Study God's word, folks:
    1) Matthew 13 says people can receive the gospel, teaching total spiritual inability is false doctrine.
    2) Matthew 23:13 says some people were entering the kingdom, thus having spiritual ability, yet were prevented from entering, thus their ability did not come from "irresistible grace."
    3) Romans 4:23-24 says God credits the faith of some people for their benefit, as those who believe God raised Jesus from the dead.
    4) 2 Thessalonians 2:13 says we are chosen for salvation through "faith in the truth." Thus our "benefit" of having our faith credited is to be chosen for salvation and placed spiritually in Christ, the sanctification by the Spirit.

    Just read your bible, folks...

If you consider yourself a "messenger of truth", then you are badly mistaken. You are espousing a false gospel.

An interpreted version of Ephesians 1:3-14...
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed those of us who have been placed in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. 4For He chose us corporately as a consequence of choosing Christ to be His Redeemer, before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love 5He predestined us for adoption, the redemption of our bodies, through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us located within the Beloved One.7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 9And He has made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ 10as a plan for the fullness of time, to bring all things in heaven and on earth together in Christ.11In Him we have obtained our inheritance, predestined according to His plan, who works out everything by the counsel of His will, 12in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, would be for the praise of His glory.13And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth—the gospel of your salvation—you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is the pledge of our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession, to the praise of His glory.

Even scripture is false to a Calvinist. This is why they twist it, and change the meanings of words in it..

You over exaggerate greatly in your pride of false doctrines. Typical Pharisee hypocritical to the end. Do you think of your self as being God?
