Global Warming Ranks Last Among Issues of Concern to Americans

perhaps then it is not "global warming" but simply "okie warming".
Personally, I think there is a combination of climate change and man's polluting te environment. The one cannot be changed whilst the latter is within our control.
Trouble is, we are trying to control the former and do nothing about the latter.
For example, ever thought about how much pollution surrounds the motorcar racing fiascos? Just to entertain. The burning rubber from tyres; the wasted fuel. These all contribute greatly to air pollution and monetary waste.
IN the 50's, a visiting Indian evangelist was asked what his greatest impression of America was. He answered, "The size of your garbage cans."

The Great Black Father in Washington
I considered the facts I knew in the 1970s. I figured that half the oil available in the world would be burned by 2000 and it would mess up the air bad and Saudi Arabia would own the USofA. (1973-1975 I was attending OU = University of Oklahoma and graduated with a BSEE /bachelor of science in electrical engineering/ ).
Mistakes I made (due to limited data and imagination):
1. the 'use one-half the oil' mark now looks like 2012. Note this is the same year in which the Mayan Stone come to it's edge
2. Saudi Arabia bought so many Missiles for their lackeys (Iran, Syria, Egypt, etc) from the Chinese that the Chinese own the USofA. Our owners want us to reduce our Carbon Foot Print please but keep the same production of food for the world. (Can we please send them better Peanut Butter?)
(3. If each the 6.4 Billion People on Earth had the carbon footprint of Al Gore -- the oceans would be boiling off -- sorry, couldn't resist it

4. Chicken Little didn't notice that not only was the SKY FALLING -- the GROUND WAS RISING to meet it
[the rest of the story. Chicken Little was proved wrong about the sky falling - it was just a nut falling from a tree. Chicken Little was vindicated when the rising ground slapped him & cause his demise. C. Little was served at the initial test of KFC's new Grilled Chicken. This lead to the acceptance by the Col. of the whole concept of Grilled KFC.]
6. Back in the 1950s when we watched Cowboy & Indian movies on Saturday Afternoon -- the American Indians & the people who deceived them spake of the 'Great White Father' in Washington. The change is: There is now a 'Great Black Father' in Washington.
