I'm really curious......
Why do people say or write "God Bless" instead of "God Bless You"
My dad surmised that it is a way of being generic, to not offend someone. He first noticed it becoming common about 10 years ago, on the cardboard signs being help up by homeless people.
Which do you say, and is there any reason behind why you say one or the other?

Red Skelton famously ended his shows with "Good night and may God bless". This was decades and decades ago.

Some in the south say "Bless" about those who are not so smart.
