I felt that I would post this here because I see this attitude here and it disturbs me... This God is on my side mentality and I don't know about you!... I thought Jesus Christ did the saving and according to scripture he would save ALL his children... That is so isn't it or am I reading the wrong Bible?
We ALL are children of God are we not?... If not then what are we doing here discussing matters of the spirit and immersing ourselves in heavenly thoughts about God and his Son Jesus Christ?... The Gentiles at one time also thought the same thing we are better than those Jews and that is why God cut them off... Be careful what you say about another of God's children... I suppose right now the Devil is laughing himself silly... Because the biggest danger among God's children is not the Devil it is each other.
Personally I do not worry about my eternal salvation it is in Christ Jesus secured for me and I can not lose it... It is hid in Jesus Christ and no one can touch it... But my daily salvation while I live in the world is up to me... I can lose the joy of my salvation in time not eternity... There will be no isums and schiums in eternity... No Baptist... No Catholics... No Jews will be there... Only children of God!... And their belief or lack of... Or doctrinal truths or errors didn't get them there... Only by the shed blood of the sinless lamb of God will any of us ever make it... Without that we are ALL hellbound... Baptist... Catholics... And ALL other denoms!... Lest we forget!... Brother Glen

Doubting Thomas... You are misunderstanding me... I'm of the Primitive Baptist brethren who believe that God WILL SAVE ALL his children!... I'm not a Universalist... Christ only SAVED those the Father gave him and no one else!... Brother Glen

I think what Brother Glen is doing is being magnaimous enough in his statements regarding God's salvation so that he includes even those outside his Primative Baptist denomination, even those poor mixed up papists on this board.
Imagine that!!!
Thinking that God can and will save his elect even if they don't get all their doctrine just right!!! -
Isn't there but ONE God?
Didn't Jesus say that He only does what the Father tells Him?
Didn't Jesus say, "...whosoever Believeth in Him shall have everlasting life..."?
Give us all a break Bro. Glen, we are all subject to the same set of "rules", etc. We are "the created" and have no say in who God saves or who God destroys, and God, the Son, told us that those who believe in Him, even on his name shall have eternal life (salvation).
He created us with the ability to believe and said to us, (to wit), "who ever seeks Me finds Me", and "behold I stand at the door and knock, if any man hears and opens the door, I will come in and sup with him and He with me". We must open the door, Jesus (God) does not do that for us!
So who ya gonna believe? I believe Jesus! I have heard his knock and I opened the door, and true to his word, He is resident within me by means of his Holy Word illuminated by the Holy Spirit.
Notice that scripture does not say that He only knocks on the doors of "the elect"?
Besides, God is no respecter of man, and he does not "choose sides"! He established the sides long before we came along, so it is we who do the choosing, we are either on the Lord's side or we are on Satan's side. The choice is ours! -

What is the source of your information?
Wasn't Jesus the Spirit of God in the flesh of man?
Didn't Jesus tell us that the Father is Spirit?
Wasn't Jesus conceived in Mary by the Spirit of God?
Seems to me many Christians have little understanding of the nature and essence of God, with the result being wrong imaginings about God, and limitations being imposed on God that have no real basis. -
I studied the NT Greek in Bible college.
 The Bible doesn't say Jesus was the Holy Spirit. Is that what you're implying?
Actually, he said God is spirit, not God is THE Spirit.
Mary was concieved by the Holy Spirit.

Everytime I hope there will be an answer to something, I'm discouraged to
know there is only more segregated division. This means to me that the
Kingdom of God is within us as the book says and that we should not look to
others for answers; no matter how historical, Greekial, ;) Orthodoxial, or churchified.
If I were relying on debate with other believers to base my faith, I would remain
lost for eternity. My unchurched nature seems less stressful. My unbaptized
state is not compromising my faith. There is no one to look to for answers as
the responses always end up in confusion. And He who brags most is quite
likely the furthest from the truth. -

LaRae noted:
There are two major factions of Primitive Baptists, one who would probably be in essence double-predestinarian in their point of view. This is very much of a minority position among those calling themselves Primitive Baptists.
As for what Bro. Glen had to say, I absolutely agree with it. And I don't see the statement as liberal or conservative -- just simply stating our view. I do wish folks would quit using political terms in religious discussion.
