Interesting Baptist Article that I have come across.
FRIDAY. The false idea that Jesus died on Friday has passed from the Roman Church to the Protestant denominations, and today `Good Friday' is observed--at least recognized--even by many Baptists.
The following study is by:
Dr. James Crumpton, Pastor, Westside Baptist Church, Natchez, Mississippi:
The traditional view is that Jesus was crucified on Friday--but was He? The Catholics had a church rule for years forbidding the eating of meat on Friday, since that was supposedly the day of the crucifixion. Some time ago the rule was done away with, but many still voluntarily observe it.

The chronology is in the scripture--Jesus was already resurrected before the first day of the week as well. Try to fit three days and nights into the chronology of death and burial on Friday.
It does not fit anybody's calendar, Jewish, Roman or Catholic.
Time for an "errata" in the Book of High Holy Days.
Probably won't happen--it would be devastating to those who sell Easter eggs and bunny rabbits.
All hail:
