This is spot on. Gospel ignorance is a fact and it is seen even on here. Some of you will automatically hate it and dismiss it due to the hatred of the brother in this video:
Agreed! I have to be overly cautious brother in mentioning, not a person by name, haven't done that, but what persons teach. That is now called personal attacks and trolling.
No, it's not. When you start a post with a personal comment such as "at least one on here, goes on and preaches, and teaches, that he is saved because he had a pure heart, that he kept it pure, and therefore and for this reason was saved" or "it is seen even on here" that is personal. The focus of what is "the one here" or the one "on here."
Argue against the false doctrine all you want to but leave out the personal stuff.
You're right, it was PERSONAL. PERSONAL teachings and it happens here all the time. It spoke of the teachings of a person.
That's exactly what I did. Saying one here teaches it isn't a personal attack. Threads are made coninuously that not only name the teaching, but BEGIN by naming it, and quoting the PERSON who taught it. I did nothing different.
Excellent video. Love the preaching of and teaching of Paul Washer. Several years ago I made it a point that all of the kids in our high school ministry got to watch his controversial sermon to teens. One of the most powerful messages that I've ever heard.
For a handful, I've witnessed what appear to be life changes. Others responded exactly as I expected the flesh to respond. There was an initial response that waned over time because it was fleshly and not spiritual.
But I believe what Washer said in that sermon about the narrow path AFTER you go through the narrow gate is an essential truth that needs to be reinforced not just to young Christians, but to all Christians.
We have falsely convinced people that things are supposed to get easier once you go through that narrow gate. And it's just the opposite. That's when the real work starts. That's when the road starts to get rocky. That's when everything and the kitchen sink gets thrown at you to keep you off that narrow path.
If the enemy can get us off that narrow path, he can render us ineffective to point others to Christ and that narrow path.
This was said they had a pure heart and that was why God saved them. It wasn't God gave them a pure heart, but they had it. They also stated Abram was a believer already, and that's why God chose him. A pagan idol-worshipper in a pagan idol-worshipping land was already a believer in God before God revealed Himself to Abram? Srsly? Theology like this needs exposed...just like roaches hiding in corners of houses.
Who is brother Washer speaking of? The progressives and cults or the mainline church? No question they are gospel ignorant. But of the mainline churches that are not a cult or a progressive I have found that they affirm the essentials of the faith at least on their website and I have avoided writing them a letter. But... maybe some of these seeker, charismatic, and pentecostal churches do not preach it, they just affirm it on their site.
It seems you cannot base anything on what a church says is their SOF, or COF any longer. In this video Washer was booted by a 'bible believing' church. That doesn't matter, claiming to being 'bible believing'. 'mainline' et al. These SOF are undone when these begin to actually hash out their theologies. A SOF is one thing, the teaching is the proof.
