    Thank you so much..

The hard part will be getting past the doom and gloom stories that most people tell me about the job market.

It's three days before Christmas, and a man lost his job. I don't care who he voted for, his opinion on birth control or abortion or healthcare or unions. I have legitimate sympathy for him. What a nightmare.

I think the really offensive thing is that someone thought it was obscene that I used the word "hell" and not that another person couldn't keep his political opinion to himself for ten seconds to express some sympathy to the poor guy. What a freaking joke!! I think that's hugely offensive. Maybe I lost my manners for a second by saying "jerk," (I don't apologize for a second for saying someone needed to [edit]..there's nothing wrong with saying that), but I'm horrified that Matthew thought this was a good time to express his displeasure with the guy's politics.

Once again you seem to miss the fact that a guy that lost his job thinks it was a good time to politics. If he thinks it is a good time to talk about it, why can't I?

For the record, the original poster hasn't complained once about my comments.

It's also telling that you don't seem to think there is a problem with the use of profanity.

Exactly.....pray that God will not only provide for your needs short term, but that He will provide a new job, with people you are to interact with about the gospel.
We can be let down, financially, emotionally in the short term....but keep in mind....even the good works of a believer are ordained of God.Eph2:10.
There are new people that God would have you to know and faithfully present the gospel too:thumbs:

I will pray for you and others who have lost their job.

I am neither pro or anti unions. I am pro justice and righteousness and the very reason we should all pray, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Then there would be no need for unions.

Unions are often their own worst enemy but we need to also consider the excessive EPA Regulations, OSHA, mandated employer contributions into payroll taxes; etc. Labor costs are but one small slice of the overall picture.

    Mathew 6

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

I commend you and others for showing your sympathy. I, too, am sympathetic, having just come off unemployment myself just a few weeks ago. I am nearly 60 years old and don't have much chance in the market place finding new jobs, but the Lord has taken care of me my whole life. I've been laid off before and have been fired before, but have never chosen to work a union job because I don't believe unions are healthy to free enterprise which has been one major factor that has made America great compared to other nations.

Unionization is highly promoted in communist and socialist literature because the underlying principles are not favorable to free enterprise systems. I believe free enterprise has been the result of Godly principles being put in place by our founding fathers, and those principles are very good for national prosperity. Communism and socialism, on the other hand, promote slavery to mediocre lifestyles and commonality of lower income and standards of living for all but those in the ruling class. Plus, communists hate God, and for good reason, because communism is of the devil.

Then don't apologize. But profanity is not allowed here. The more you use it, the more infractions you will pile up.

Sorry about your job loss and the others who have gone through similar circumstances recently. My wife and I both have had some career issues this past year, but the Lord has provided all that we have needed. She interviewed for a new position this morning.

From the testimonies I've read on these last 6 pages, I was reminded of this passage which has brought me comfort at troublesome times this past year.

    Psalm 37:23-26
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD,And He delights in his way.Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand. I have been young, and now am old;Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed.

Hard to understand their attitude. But then Christians are widely viewed as those people who kick another Christian while they are down. I know this is not true of all Christians, but there are far too many who stand ready to condemn but not to forgive, or to be sympathetic or empathetic with others.

Few companies have a management that has any loyalty to their workers.

I am truly sorry for the loss of the job. It is traumatic. My prayers are with all who are without a job.
