Greetings everyone. My name is Robin. Years ago, I was registered on here as Farmer's Wife. I don't know if anyone still remembers my mother, Granny Gumbo. (Kinda hard to forget her if you ever met her on here.) This was one of her favorite websites. She went offline for several years to devote her time to taking care of her "Mister" (my Daddy). She got back online last year to help occupy her time after Daddy died on June 15, 2011. They were married 45 years and she missed him terribly!
Anyway, I wanted folks here to know that Granny joined Daddy in heaven one month ago today. Her death was unexpected. I spoke with her Tuesday, March 6th, three hours before she died. She said that she was trying to send a post to a local newspaper forum on the discussion of "home funerals". I wondered if she was able to send that post before she died. So, I looked it up and sure enough she did. What a testimony to leave! Little did she know that God would call her home just an hour and a half later. Here's the link if anyone would like to read it. Her screen name was "Mossy Granny". She loved the Lord and her family. We miss her GREATLY!

I remember GrannyGumbo very well. She was a wonderful person. :flower::flower: She and I lived within about 1-2 hours of each other, but unfortunately never met each other. I'm very sorry to hear of her passing, but rejoice in the knowledge that she is in glory!
I copied her message from the link to make it easier for people to read and not to have to scroll and look for it. It was a blessing indeed that this was her final words to the world.

Dear Snowbird,
Granny Gumbo was one of the first people I ever "met" on the board. I am very sad to hear she has departed in the most selfish way as of course she has really just gone home.:tear:
She gave me a wonderful pumpkin pie recipe.
My sincere condolences to all of her family, it is always hard to lose loved ones, but grannies and gramps are special folks!!
God bless you. -
