Quoted by Eliyahu: Valentine's day has nothing to do with Christian belief. It may be a part of Satan's work. Many things are competing to get our attention to God. LINK
It was a CSL, modified to a CMSL (chocolate milk spewing laugh). I've grown accustomed to Easter and Christmas being assaulted, but Valentine's Day was a new one and it got me by suprise. (and yes I won't be laughing so hard when I'm sent straight to hell in a heart shaped basket)
I'm not laughing at the people who hold this belief. Ok I am, and I'm sorry, but I'm trying not to! I'd like to be more understanding and I'm sure there's a basis to the reasoning, I'm just not getting it yet. (feel free to laugh at me about something too)
My question is, if Valentine's Day is wrong, shouldn't we also fear Groundhog Day? Seriously. It's a real question. It would kinda have to be in order to have consistency, if one believes Valentine's may be of Satan.
The day set aside to honor Valentine occurred before the pagan holiday.
He was sacrificed, more or less, to honor the pagan god (or gods).
The day itself seems fine to me, but the incorporation of Cupid and other pagan symbols seems somewhat questionable.
(BTW, I'm doing this from memory, and it's not something that I deemed to be important to memorize, so don't hold me to the details.)
People should label their posts as satire. This was ment to be funny right? I think it is funny, but after reading some of the posts on this board I have to take into account that there is the slight possability you are serious.
Oh mercy!! Too funny!
ahhhhh then I'm really doomed, Valentines Day is my wedding anniversary.
Oh and let me add...I was also baptized on Oct.31.
I might be beyond help.
;)
:D
Almost every Church I have ever attended had a Valentine's Day banquet.
Hubby is taking me this year to ours. People can turn anything into a sin, if they are so inclined.
