Hannity and Hanoi Jane are both are in entertainment.

Which one represents a better example of freedom of speech?

Which one is a better example for the children of our country?

Kudos for recognizing that Hannity is an entertainer. As to your question...you may as well ask, which is better Baal or Pan?

Yes, Rufus, your analogy kinda reminds me of what I heard in the last election, vote for the lesser of two evils. I would laugh except it's not a laughing matter.:tear:

Nope...and as they say...a vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil.

Yet, we have folks participating with evil and thereby voting to support evil agendas everyday in our country.

It is a dark day . . .

You know, if Americans would realize that entertainers have no more power than we as average citizens, they could be put in the trash heap where they belong. They have no power. All we have to do is stop listening to their jaws flap on the radio and TV, their ratings go down, and they are history. Why do we as average hard working Americans care what any of these arrogant, self indulgent people think? My opinion of Rush, Hannity, Coulter, Jane, Glenn Beck, is all the same: their opinion is meaningless. They are not an example one way or the other to us unless we allow it. Its people who are fascinated by the Oscars, Tonys, Emmys, and other such garbage award show that keep this thing going. Duct tape is the solution to the whole bunch of them.

I have a t-shirt with printing on it. A long duct tape, and the words:"When the going gets tough, the tough goes duct tape".

I agree: We need to make the entertainers unemployed, expropriate their wealth, and then send them to Iraq as peacekeepers. Start with:

Hillary Clinton
Howard Dean
Susan Sarandon
Barbra Streisand
Michael Douglas
Alec Baldwin
George Clooney
Sean Penn

And of course: Jerry Springer, Michael Moore, Jihad Jane Fonda (her new title role), & John Kerry

Hannity extols the virtues of patriotism, as it pertains to supporting American efforts at world peace, and in the supporting of our troops.

Jane supports any Communist dictator, or evil regime that America stands up too.

One is a patriot, and one is treasonous.

You fall into the same old tired trap. You give credence to these two people's opinion. It really has nothing to do with whether you agree with Hannity or disagree with Jane. It has to do with you empowering them to make them think they have some kind of special authority.

Both individuals exert great influence on American perceptions, regardless of the means you choose to minimize their effectiveness. It doesn't matter that they are entertainers, they have influence, just as Sean Penn, Barbra S, et al.

I'll support Hannity, and those of his ilk, every time against those on the left. If that means I've empowered him, so be it.

It is so, and you also enpower the rest of the people you mentioned by giving credence to their opinion. The ONLY reason they have influence is because you and others are fascinated by stars, talk show hosts, and the like. They are just overpaid loud mouths. People like Hannity talk lots, but never served a day. He is always proud of someone else paying the price. You choose your heros, and I will choose mine. The two will never meet.

If you mean Hannity never served in the military, that means absolutely nothing. He is 100% entitled to his opinion and to express it. I give no credence to Hollywierds, because their whole lives are dedicated to make believe. You have no business deciding or judging any persons worth.

None of these qualify as my "hero". You'll never know any of my heroes.

Every American is entitled to express his or her opinion. It is your choice that you make this Hannity person's opinion more important than anyone else's. He is in the same catagory as the Hollywierds, as you call them, just a different position. He is someone who makes money by talking lots, doing nothing productive. As for your first point, it most certainly does make a difference if he served. At least he would know what he is talking about. Oh, and say hi to Rush for me, another great American icon.
