Nashville International Airport
The code is for the old name of the airstrip Berry Field, NAshville, TN.
Hence, BNA.
Incidentally, as well, O'Hare is ORD.
It gets its code from the original name, as well. Located in Orchard Place, a small community when it was originally built during WWII as a manufacturing facility for Douglas C-54s, the facility was known as ORchard Place Airport/Douglas Field, hence ORD.
After WWII it became Orchard Field airport, after the departure of Douglas, and was again renamed as O'Hare in 1949, in honor of Lt. Cmdr. Edward "Butch" O'Hare, a WWII flying ace, and the first Navy flying ace.
"And now you know 'The Rest of the Story'!"
